Jane Danson is definitely one of Corrie's strongest actresses (along with the likes of Alison King) but even she couldn't rescue those "hostage" scenes from becoming a bit of a joke!

I quite enjoyed the hostage but I guess my expectations with Corrie are quite low right now. Can we PLEASE get a new producer??
I feel like Corrie is still generally good at all the small-talk scenes which add a realistic and community vibe, but when it comes to big drama, they've been more or less terrible since The Hat took over (usually very sensationalised and little thought for motive and aftermath).
Just something actually HAPPENING is enough for me to be slightly pleased with Corrie these days :drama:

I haven't seen the hostage scenes yet but I can already tell how they'll go...

I hate the way these big events are bigged up but then just turn into huge disappointments like the Jenny/Kevin storyline climax, it just felt like they just wanted to get it out the way...

I echo all the above comments that Blackburn needs to go but when Corrie keeps coming out on top of the ratings they won't see any reason to replace him until he decides to go

There's been a few times this year I've though EE would become top soap again, but Corrie seem to have an advert on TV every couple of weeks which seems to keep them ahead. I think this autumn could potentially see Corrie slip to second place.

Autumn big storyline coming up according to Digital Spy.

Jason Grimshaw will be left fighting for his life in intensive care with parents Tony and Eileen at his bedside after a vicious attack by Callum's henchmen. Jason apparently defends the Platts from Callum and this is the result. However, as the DS spoiler says, wait until father Tony finds out who was behind it!.

I wish they'd get rid of Callum already...awful character and awful actor :(
Sally referring to everyone at Underworld as her staff
I am EMBARRASSED for Corrie. Sarah Harding's acting skills...I mean, WOW.

I think Corrie has got a tiny bit better over the last few episodes - apart of course from the dreadful Sarah Harding. She was so pants its unbelievable!

It still isn't a patch on Emmerdale - but ... what is?

Oh god I know :drama: She did get the part on name alone though (I think I read that, but I'm not 100% sure it was her). I thought at first she was just overracting the "normal" bits in the shop but she was just as bad when angry at Tracey. I like her in GA etc and as a person but her acting in this is just awful.

Tim and Sally are fantastic, A really believeable couple talking about actual real life problems.

Does anyone know where Sarah is supposed to be living at the moment, as we had that very odd scene where Sarah had been to Dev's in her dressing gown a few days ago. Last I knew she and Bethany were staying at Audrey's, but if that's the case I didn't think Audrey's house was close enough to the street to be able to wander to Dev's in her dressing gown. I thought maybe she'd moved back to Gail's while David was away, but she walked straight past that house.

Very odd! Maybe Audrey's house is a lot closer than I think, but I found it such a strange scene.

I always thought Audrey lives a bit further away, but only like maybe a 5 minute drive away? I think they've driven there before. Not close enough to wander to the shop in your dressing gown but maybe I'm remembering incorrectly
