Grand Prix du Canada was outstanding as per usual. Well and truly showed why it just got a decade long renewal this weekend.

Sergio Perez has given a five-place grid penalty for Austria following his crash with Felipe Massa on the last lap.

Fantastic result for Daniel Ricciardo taking his first win. And the first non-Mercedes winner this season. Dramatic race indeed.

What a difference a race makes with the euphoria of scoring their first points in F1 to both drivers taking each other out on the opening lap for Marussia.

Canada was such an exciting race, definitely one of the best in recent years. And today's qualifying session in Austria was probably one of the best qualifying sessions for quite a while, such an unpredictable result and a great result for Williams. While being a Force India fan I know this could mean Williams will leapfrog Force India in the standings but I'm still pleased we have a different team on pole!

didn't think this season would have another race as exciting as the Canadian circuit but the last 10 or so laps of this one were so f***ing good. Rosberg managing to catch up with Hamilton/Alonso and Ricciardo overtaking them both to win ahhh. Still holding out hope for Ricciardo to catch Rosberg & Hamilton up on pts somehow.

It was another fantastic race, 3rd best of the season behind Canada and Bahrain for me! Can't wait for the next race now, Belgium always provides fabulous races!

Roll on Belgium. And normally the weather does play a part.

Great win for Ricciardo indeed and a good result for Alonso in second place.

Could be some very interesting conversations with Mercedes coming up.

^ should be some interesting conversations between Hamilton and Mercedes too!

no time for the summer breaks 😒

A 4 week break until Spa. Hopefully it will be worth waiting for.

Mexico returning to F1 next year and a new race in Azerbaijan in 2016.

Which races do people think should definitely remain on the calendar? Surely the classic circuits like Spa, Monaco, Silverstone, Monza.

they can't ever take Monaco away 💖 also the Canadian circuit just for the amount of surprises it always seems to inspire

I can't think of any tracks I'd actually like to be left off the calendar. Possibly Spain but that won't happen as long as Alonso is in F1, I actually preferred Valencia to Catalunya, but that's the only race that seems to be consistently relatively uneventful which will probably be due to the amount of testing they used to do there. At the end of the day though, all races have the potential to be eventful once in a while so in terms of ones that should be kept no matter what, I'd say the "classics" such as Spa, Silverstone, Montreal, Monaco, Suzuka, Melbourne and Interlagos. Monza is possibly my least favourite of the so-called "classics" but similarly to Spain, that'll never be removed as long as Ferrari are in F1.

I don't like any modern tracks. Don't feel a spirit of F1 races in such places as Abu Dhabi, Sakhir e.t.c.

Somewhere in my dreams : Comeback of Netherlands, Austria, old good "Nordschleife", Sweden (do they have a track now ?), possibly South Africa, Portugal.

Glad to see Mexico again in F1 family.

Austrian Grand Prix returned for this year Alex!

Spa is essential and Canada pretty much always throws out a couple of safety cars (all the street circuits are fairly good for that). Some of the newer tracks can f*** off, Tilke designs technically good circuits with absolutely no soul and some of the races are so boring. I wouldn't mind France and Estoril making a comeback.

First time, when I agree with you. :o :)

Imola 1994 was the first race, which I watched. :(

In this year I celebrate the 20th Anniversary of "my F1 career". Today I'm not hardcore fan as in 1997-2003, but still watch some races in a season.

To be honest Monza seldom throws up a hugely exciting race, the only recent one that springs to mind was '08 but the weather played its part there. It's history & legacy means it'll never be dropped but if it somehow were I wouldn't be too annoyed compared to if they dropped other classics.

Along with Spa, Monaco, Silverstone etc. they really can never get drop Brazil, guaranteed to be a thriller! Hungary & Malaysia also are usually entertaining.

Of the less exciting tracks, I agree about Spain (both tracks weren't particularly great). Also to some degree Singapore, I know it's an iconic setting but the races are normally quite dull!

Definitely would like to see Estoril come back to the calendar. Which circuit in France would you have, Silas? Magny-Cours or Paul Ricard?

I would drop Bahrain, China, Singapore and Abu Dhabi and India as it will return to the calendar next year.

Are you looking forward to the inaugural Russian Grand Prix, AlexRange?

Definitely keep Suzuka, Interlagos, Monte Carlo, Silverstone, Spa, Montreal for sure.

Keep Melbourne? or swap for Adelaide?

Australia: keep (good track, usually makes for an exciting race at the start of the season)

Malaysia: keep (always a big chance of rain there :D)

Bahrain: drop

China: drop

Spain: drop (terrible track, 90% of races there are boring)

Monaco: drop (yes, it has a lot of history but the races are almost always terrible to sit through since overtaking is almost impossible)

Canada: defnitely keep (best track in the whole calendar )

Austria: keep

GB: keep

Germany: keep

Hungary: drop (usually boring races when it doesn't rain)

Belgium: definitely keep (third best track in the calendar)

Italy: keep

Singapore: undecided (have to see some more races there to really get an opinion)

Japan: definitely keep (fourth best track :D)

Russia: undecided (obviously)

USA: keep (I think the track has great potential with all the elevation changes and challenging corners)

Brazil: definitely keep (second best track and there's always a chance of rain)

Abu Dhabi: undecided

I would probably bring back Magny-Cours. I really enjoyed the French GP back in 04/05/06.

I would keep Melbourne personally. I'm not a fan of the actual city but the circuit is fantastic, the weather is fond of throwing us a curve ball or two and the atmosphere is incredible.

Spa is top of my list of circuits to visit, it's just incredible.

Melbourne, Sepang, Spa, Interlagos, Silverstone, Suzuka and Montreal are the essential tracks for me. As long as they're on the calendar I don't really mind what the rest of it looks like.

Good news that Melbourne has secured a new F1 deal that keeps the Australian Grand Prix until 2020. Hopefully it will stay as the season-opener next year.
