March 15, 201411 yr Griff having a U-turn shocka ~ I'm having a 'catching up with music' day today and finally decided to give this a listen. How is this the same person who made 'Oops'? Really is INFINITELY better. I am on board. Sounded a bit familiar though so I feel like I might have already heard it somewhere without realising it. Either that or it's a massive ripoff of something.
March 15, 201411 yr I don't find the drop disappointing at all, it suits the song a lot more than a generic Calvin Harris/Tiesto type drop would. Songs on the house/deep-house side of the EDM spectrum don't really focus on drops, and some don't even have them (e.g. Ben Pearce 'What I Might Do') I don't disagree with anything you've said here, I don't really want a big house drop. Following the build-up, it's not even particularly the production I find disappointing, it's the lack of... anything but some oohs and ahhs, the final chorus when she brings the BABY I LOVE THE WAY etc bit over the exact same production as in the 'ooh ahh' bits, it works because it feels really emphatic. But, I find the 'ooh ahh' for 30 seconds after a build up to be really anti-climatic, even something of a 'Look Right Through' nature would suit imo. I think it's only the first chorus (if it really is one) that lets me down, the rest feel fine somehow.

March 15, 201411 yr Yes http://i58.tinypic.com/29m1sue.png It's the "ahh" which is the worst, it's awful. :puke2: The song in general is good though, I wouldn't rave about it but I wouldn't turn it off/switch station if I heard it on the music channels/radio.

March 26, 201411 yr I've just listened to this, but like Bray I feel like I've known it for quite a while. I wonder was it someone's BJSC potential at some point. Not exactly loving it (I don't believe I was back then either). Not a fan of her voice - though I enjoy the production & concept of the chorus I can't enjoy her tone.
March 26, 201411 yr Mind if I plug my own mashup of this? J5tnjjQoOVc The vocal reminded me a little of 1991 classic 'Break of Dawn' so I put it over the top, I think it works pretty well. Original's pretty good, I'm not really a fan of minimal-sounding deep house drops unless they build to something more major but it would still make a worthy #1.

April 6, 201411 yr This is definitely one of the best dance releases this year, it has a "relistenability" factor that most others don't.
April 6, 201411 yr I've only heard this a few times but it's been lodged in my head for days now. That said, I don't actually like it and I'm a bit baffled by its huge popularity. Weird. Maybe it'll click over the next while.
April 13, 201411 yr Finally saw the video and it's so good! The song grew on me so much as well. The most deserving song at the top of the singles chart (next week~) in absolute AGES.
