She has basically start her album from scratch again, he contributed to most of it. I'm not the biggest fan of HER as a person but her music can be good.

I didn't exactly say that... I didn't know the rumours were "bullshit" so I'm just speculating what might have happened... Something must have happened, although maybe he IS just being petty. Who knows, I guess it's good they aren't dragging all their personal problems through the media and milking them for anything they're worth as much as they could be doing but I just don't see why there's a need to block her from performing a song she had a hit with, let alone to force her to re-do half of her album.

I'm not blaming the woman "by default". I am just stating that I don't get why he would do such thing when Rita's about to blow up in the US and he could make a hell lot of money out of the songs. I can't see a proper reasoning for that, besides her doing him dirty big time. Either that or he is the most petty human being on this earth, who is in that case not only sabotaging Rita's career, but also his own as he'll be losing credibility and sympathy

Well Liam actually you did imply that because there have been unsubstantiated rumours of her infidelities in the past (and actually if she wants to be promisucous that's entirely her prerogative and none of our business), she doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt with Calvin. Which is misogynistic, yes.

Liam didn't say it was her for sure, he said that based on previous alleged occurrences it's *possible* it was her. And I don't see how it would be misogynistic even if he WAS saying it's definitely her. Would you say it was 'misandric' (or whatever the corresponding male word for misogynistic is) if he said the exact same thing except it was about Calvin? Her being a woman has nothing to do with it, her being an alleged former cheater has everything to do with it, whether or not those rumours were true.

I haven't seen any misogyny here and thinking it's possible for a woman to be in the wrong is far from sexism.

On a less serious note, this whole 'Calvin trying to ruin Rita's career' thing is kinda hilarious (pretty dickhead-y on Calvin's part but still). I'm sure she'll be fine anyway.

He's basically said that it comes across as a dickish move because no one has heard his part of the story as he's not been prepared to sell his story.

Exactly! All I meant by my post is that doubt has been cast over her in relationships prior to this, and as we don't know what happen it's only natural to speculate... Something must have happened for Calvin to react as he did, I can't imagine he'd do this if they just split normally. It may or may not be her fault, it could equally be his, we may never know, but it just makes me wonder why it's affected him so badly that he's being this petty. I sincerely doubt it just "didn't work out"...
