February 6, 201411 yr Pretty mad stats right there.. The scale of their success is almost beyond belief.. would of been a crazy time to be living through the Beatle mania era? Its not even comparable to all the size of the 'Beliebers and Directioners' is it.... or is it??? surely not haha
February 6, 201411 yr Author 1963/1964 sure was a crazy time. And I lived through it. Only 3 TV channels, no Radio 1, no computers - laptops - iPhones etc, few could afford record players. Singles were 33p or £12 in today's terms! And they are still selling albums and tracks by the bucketful.
February 6, 201411 yr BIG anniversary event coming in the States: The week The Beatles had the ENTIRE Top 5 singles, and around 13 of the Top 100. No act ever had the condensed success they had in a 7-year career, or as prolific, or critically-acclaimed, or influential (for decades afterwards), or diverse musically. The only area others can beat them on were lyrically, really. Videos? Did it. International success? Did it. Most number ones? Yes. Hits as songwriters only? yes, loads. Films? 3. TV shows? Yes. I could go on, and often do
February 6, 201411 yr That's some amazing statistics right there! I would've loved to have been around in the 60's music-wise, truly remarkable.
