Having had many discussions with friends while watching curling both today and over the last week or so, I've come to the conclusion that literally nobody fully understands why it's there, how it works or why we're so good at it. We just make blind guesses.

 

YAY us for getting in the final though.

It's surprisingly good viewing. The fact that the rules are reasonably straightforward helps!

Elise Christie has been penalised for a third time in the speed skating :/ I really feel sorry for her, obviously rules are rules but it must be heartbreaking for that to happen so many times.

It didn't even look like she should have been penalized, the Chinese skater was the one who took her out! Poor her though. :(

Russia top the medal table after soundly defeating Norway in the cross-country! (without even needing to rely on winning the bobsleigh like I thought they would, even though they probably still will)

 

I am quite pleased because I got them at 12/1 to do just that before the games started, wish I'd put a bit more on that now. :lol:

 

Very enjoyable games overall, provided me with many moments when I was supposed to be working. I'll be a little sad to see it go.

The fact that The Netherlands actually came 5th is amazing. Our most succesfull Winter Games ever and the first time in history a country had 4 sweeps in the same Games :smoke:

Same here. Our most successful Winter Olympic Games ever with 8 medals <3

Joint most successful games ever for GB as well ~ I thought our target of 3 medals was unrealistic based on past performanc ebut we ended up exceeding it!

I really enjoyed watching the biathlon. Looks like such a fun thing to do!

 

And my god I'm such a drama queen, I almost cried when that bear shed a tear at the closing ceremony.
