Posted February 9, 201411 yr I wondered whether anybody could add to this list of Billboard 100 hits by British artists that I've been compiling over the past couple of years. It goes back to 1990ish as I think going back any further than that may be a troublesome task. I am particularly interested in 1990-present as this is the time when I was most interested in music, but any information to add to what I already have would be great. This is a mixture of research and guesswork and is rather limited to my own music collection, so there will be glaring omissions. I've only included hits when the main artist is British - no featured artists. In no particular order: The 1975 - Chocolate Adele – Chasing Pavements Adele – Rolling In The Deep Adele – Rumour Has It Adele – Turning Tables Adele – Set Fire To The Rain Adele – Someone Like You Adele - Skyfall Alex Clare – Too Close All Saints – Never Ever All Saints – I Know Where It’s At Amy Winehouse – Rehab Amy Winehouse – You Know I’m No Good Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? February 9, 201411 yr There's a similar list in an older thread that, while also incomplete, should be useful to you ^_^ http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=139668 Aside from what's listed there, off the top of my head I can think of Adele "Skyfall", Estelle "Thank You", Muse "Madness", Natasha Bedingfield "Strip Me" and a handful of One Direction album tracks: "Rock Me", "Diana", "Strong", and "Midnight Memories" (which is presumably the next single but charted as an instant-grat) EDIT: few more Dido - "Thank You" Jay Sean - "Do You Remember", "2012 (It Ain't The End)", "Hit The Lights", "I'm All Yours" James Blunt - "Goodbye My Lover", "High", "Stay The Night" Lily Allen - "F**k You" Tinie Tempah - "Till I'm Gone" Edited February 9, 201411 yr by Riser
February 9, 201411 yr Jay Sean had a few more in addition to 'Down' : 'Do You Remember', '2012 (It Ain't the End)', 'Hit the Lights' and 'I'm All Yours' *according to Wikipedia EDIT: Riser beat me to it! Edited February 9, 201411 yr by noahspike
February 9, 201411 yr Arctic Monkeys - "Do I Wanna Know?" Gabrielle - "Dreams", "I Wish" KT Tunstall - "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree", "Suddenly I See" Mika - "Grace Kelly", "Love Today", "Popular Song" Jamiroquai - "Alright" Will Young - "Leave Right Now" The deeper we get into the 90s, we'll come across more and more artists that also charted in the 80s which will push us further back in time. George Michael, Erasure, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, etc. Do you want every charting song from them, no matter the decade, or would you prefer to stick with 90s-00s-10s for now? February 9, 201411 yr Author I think the further back we go, the more of a task this becomes. I'd rather 1990-present, because that's 24 years in itself. Thanks for the latest additions. Where did you find Jamiroquai and Gabrielle? I can't find anywhere that backs that up.
February 9, 201411 yr I used Wikipedia then double-checked using the resource from this thread in the Chart Vault: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=161793 Will add much more later tonight!
