Posted February 17, 201411 yr How I compile my charts: With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's started gaining some airplay. Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80's/90's singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1. February 19, 201411 yr Hi! :D I was never a fan of 'Dark Horse' when it was originally released as an 'instant grat' but after hearing it on the album, it really grew on me. :wub: I wish I charted it last year to be honest, would have probably been a #1 as I did listen to it all the time. I've now decided to be much more lenient with allowing album tracks to chart! :P A lot of people seem to dislike 'Say Something' but I can't get enough of it! I can understand why - it's very slow paced, very stripped back and quite repetitive, but I think if you're in the mood it sounds beautiful. The video definitely helps as well. 'Shot Me Down' is definitely a grower. I love Skylar Grey's vocals and the build up towards the breakdown but the rest sounds like a different song. I'm getting used to it though and I do like it.

Skylar Grey - Shot Me Down (1 wks / HCP 39) [39] Thanks for commenting Mikey :) Hi! :D I was never a fan of 'Dark Horse' when it was originally released as an 'instant grat' but after hearing it on the album, it really grew on me. :wub: I wish I charted it last year to be honest, would have probably been a #1 as I did listen to it all the time. I've now decided to be much more lenient with allowing album tracks to chart! :P A lot of people seem to dislike 'Say Something' but I can't get enough of it! I can understand why - it's very slow paced, very stripped back and quite repetitive, but I think if you're in the mood it sounds beautiful. The video definitely helps as well. 'Shot Me Down' is definitely a grower. I love Skylar Grey's vocals and the build up towards the breakdown but the rest sounds like a different song. I'm getting used to it though and I do like it. I've always quite liked 'Dark Horse' even though I don't think it's anywhere near her best single. Interesting performance of it at the Brits last night! Yeah I really can't get into 'Say Something', I just find it dull tbh. I'll see if it ever catches me in the right mood :) I'll take your word for it if you say 'Shot Me Down' is a grower... Skylar's vocals are definitely the best thing about it. Thanks for commenting!
