June 24, 201411 yr Well you'd have to consider streaming for the songs that would've been above or below it.
July 1, 201411 yr Can we all stream What About Us and Notorious 10 times a day until they get their certifications please? If streaming had been included already, What About Us would have an extra 70k sales from spotify alone, it would probably be hitting around 500k now. Disco Love would have an extra 30k ish - and might even have pushed for silver! It's important that we all stream What Are You Waiting For as much as we can on release week! July 1, 201411 yr Can we all stream What About Us and Notorious 10 times a day until they get their certifications please? What About Us is still there most streamed song on Spotify, so the new rules will speed up its certification.
July 6, 201411 yr Is the reason What About Us got certified gold because they added the streaming to the sales? I hope so, it could mean 'Higher' might scrape gold soon as it is their 2nd most streamed song
July 6, 201411 yr As Steaming has been included, all the singles should have had a big boost. What About Us, 80,000+ Higher 25,000+ 30 Days 7,000+ Gentleman 7,000+ Not Giving Up 8,000+ My Heart Takes Over 10,000+ Disco Love 20,000+ All Fired Up 23,000+ Ego 20,000+ Notorious 18,000+ Missing You 15,000+ I'm not sure about any of the total's pre Ego, as they have never showed up in the top 10. Obviously this is only including Spotify, so total's could be slightly bigger.
July 6, 201411 yr I'm confused about Notorious though. It was on 180k over two years ago and I would have thought it would be near to silver as it is and that's without streaming. It's got loads of streams on spotify alone so I am Am surprised it's not silver already. I'm thinking maybe BPI has so many to get through that they are doing th In batches and there may be another 10 pages next week?
July 6, 201411 yr Not all the streams will be included, as far as I am aware. Only 10 plays will be counted per day, per user, so perhaps that probably applies to the past as well? Apply that to thousands of listeners who might listen to the same song more than 10 times a day, then that's a lot of plays not contributing.
July 6, 201411 yr Either way, Notorious must be SO close to silver now. - Forever is Over can't be far off. And I wouldn't now be surprised if Disco Love went silver by the end of be year with cherry picks and streams from Finest Selection. Disco Love and Notorious are two very deserving songs.
July 6, 201411 yr Finest Selection. Disco Love and Notorious are two very deserving songs. YES.
July 7, 201411 yr Do the Sats or their label make any money from streaming? I mean, an extra 80K on What About Us is pretty fantastic but if it doesn't make a difference to the income of their team then I guess it doesn't mean that much considering they aren't proper 'sales'? Ugh I find all this very confusing and annoying.
July 7, 201411 yr I think labels always made money from streaming, which is just another reason why they've added streaming data to official 'sales', so nothing would have changed for the label since the rules changes, I don't THINK? It says in the charts forum, that streaming data has only been added for 2014, which will be why Notorious hasn't passed the mark of silver, if it had been streaming from the past 5 years, I'm almost certain it would have that silver.
July 7, 201411 yr They make money from streaming, yes, but the 100 streams will earn them less than one actual sale.
July 8, 201411 yr As Steaming has been included, all the singles should have had a big boost. Reading on the BPI website, only streams for the 1st January 2014 counted towards the total. so any before that will be rendered 'useless' in the terms of the new streaming rules.
July 8, 201411 yr Reading on the BPI website, only streams for the 1st January 2014 counted towards the total. so any before that will be rendered 'useless' in the terms of the new streaming rules. I'm glad. Otherwise too many songs would now be Silver/Gold/Platinum which I think takes away the value of it.
July 9, 201411 yr The only songs that would have had significant boosts would be What About Us And Disco Love. Disco Love probably still had 10/15k added to its total, so will probably be on about 160k now. I'm sure Notorious got about 1k added to it, SO CLOSE.
July 10, 201411 yr So in regards to chart rules, will all the streams that took place prior to release get counted on release week? Or is it now possible to chart before release week due to streams?
July 11, 201411 yr I have created a spotify account, :cheer: And created a Sats playlist with every album and single on there :cheer: If I played it twice a day (or something) will this boost streaming sales?
July 12, 201411 yr when WAYWF is released we all need to just keep streaming it! put it on repeat on ur computer before you leave for work in te morning lol
