But none so much as the final heat. Of course, we've still got the heart attack inducing DISCO DRAMA of andra chansen next week, and the requisite spectacle of the final the week after, but when it comes to the songs - this is it, we're all out for Melodifestivalen for 2014. But don't be sad - what a HAUL we've gotten this year loves *.* Currently I'd say this is the best since 2009 so far - and we haven't even heard this heat yet, which looks to be the most promising of them all. So, we coast into Örnsköldsvik (pronounced 'uhrn-hwurlds-vik', but if in doubt just clear your throat) in the ICY NORTH, straight off the back of last week's POP CHANGING OF THE GUARD. Sweden (possibly influenced by the anti-MF lot being distracted by a Winter Olympics hockey match on at the same time) turned out in record lows to stick two fingers up at the rock acts (well, send them to AC. We'll take what we can get here.) and put Max Martin revivalist Oscar Zia (17) and jobseekers' allowance icon Ace Wilder (31) (no, really.) direkt till finalen, whilst giving a collective shrug and a P45 to the careers of Shirley Clamp, Jessica Folcker, Dr. Alban and CajsaStina Åkerström, and a collective shrug to the idea of EKO having a career. Thank god for that generous Nordic welfare system (Ace Wilder 'nodding sagely'). Still, if last week wasn't enough for you, use the next two days readying the gay defibrillator: Christer and Sweden are going DOUBLE OR NOTHING on the schlager disco front and testing the comeback of two of the genre's most iconic veterans. In addition, we've got the comeback of two of last year's fan favourites (one Sweden-approved, one not), the entry of two promising debutants (one known, one not), and, er, two rock entries (both shit). Basically, this week might be the one time you all get an taste of what it's like to live in my psyche in the ten seconds of a Globen or Bust announcement between some old hag and a smirking bastardry of guitar merchants, as this heat's so competitive at least ONE of your collective faves is almost certainly going out. We're in for the HEAT OF DEATH people: lap. it. up. *.* http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264517/melodifestivalen/article1719252.svt/alternates/large/alcazar.jpg 01: Alcazar - Blame It On The Disco Text och musik: Fredrik Kempe, David Kreuger och Hamed 'K-One' Pirouzpanah Best known for: Gliding from early 00s international success with (UK #13) to a glittering career as Melodifestivalen fixtures, with their biggest success (MF 2003, 3rd) going on to be the biggest hit from that year's contest William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 2.25 / 5/4 / 2nd William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 5.00 / 4/1 (2nd favourites behind Sanna Nielsen) Where to begin with a pop institution as VITAL as Alcazar? Sweden's favourite musical fag-hag combination (well, Andreas and Tess) have been camping it up since half of you were in nappies, actually managing to cross over internationally with that tacky turn-of-the-century disco revivalist fare that probably sounded dated even at the time - step forward ... (UK #15) - but let's be real here: Alcazar are an act that saved their best for the Swedish stage. Since their incarnation, the Zar have gone through three line ups. The first (Andreas/Tess/Annafikiore) broke out internationally, before bringing onboard Magnus Carlsson in 2002 from MF runners-up and giving birth to the second, a kind of ABBA for the post-Admiral Duncan age - the openly bumming Andreas (him up top) and Magnus Carlsson bringing along their hags Tess and Annafikiore for the ride (not literally). This lot twice forced themselves through the travails of andra chansen through sheer will/performing power (seriously, I wager there aren't many other MF acts out there that as effectively transformed generic 7/10 recordings into standout 11/10 moments of life with little more than synchronised choreography and enough spraytan to suffocate Essex) with (3rd, MF 2003) and (3rd, MF 2005). Both times they reaped the rewards with Swedish #1s and longstanding radio hits, but TROUBLE was abrewing... Understandably NARKED OFF that Andreas had the AIDS without informing him before they gave the johnnies a miss once, in 2005 Magnus bowed out to a lifetime of visits to the pharmacy, obesity and Melodiminishing returns with 80s fabulosity. The greater loss was ludicrously-named drama dolly Annafikiore, a woman who was no stranger to creating moments of life with abortive money notes and publicity-seeking A&E visits during rehearsal. All went QUIET on the western front for a while (short of Andreas finally achieving his dream and entering Eurovision for Switzerland in 2006 as part of Benetton collective six4one, albeit with a piece of sickly trash far beneath him) until 2007, when Andreas and Tess reformed at a G-A-Y gig (obviously), inviting Lina Hedlund (who collaborated with Housewife sister Hanna on the hilariously dreadful (9th, MF 2002)) on board to create Zar 3.0 - the aging poof out on the town flanked by his two hags in colour-coordinated neon. Unsurprisingly it wasn't long before they were back on the MF scene, this time with the AMYL DISCO MADNESS of , a song so good even Tess 'n' Lina's vocal limitations couldn't hold them back (if anything I think the sheer ropeyness of 'EVREHBADY'S LOOKIN FOR THE POD OF GOLD adds to the package). Managing to stave off gay comas long enough to pick up the phones, Sweden sent the 'Zar through direkt for the first time, making them big contenders in one of the most competitive years of all time. Sadly, it wasn't to be, and they wound up in the honorary gay fave position of fifth in the final. Inevitable goodwill-based 2010 follow-up trod much the same ground without bringing nearly as much to the table, sending Andreas and the girls crashing out before the final for the first time ever, and a hiatus was announced in short order. However, they're BACK. Doing a greatest hits medley for the in last year's final heat and bringing more glamour in five minutes than Sweden had seen in four whole heats got Alcazar critical acclaim, and invariably prepared the ground for a comeback. So here they are: with the writers of Undo and Yes We Can on board, Kempe and co. will be hoping the 'Zar can make it three for three for them, and Kempe promises a track which will outdo Stay The Night and pack in about twenty key changes to boot. We know this lot will tear the hell out of it onstage and give Sweden a show to remember. That said, Alcazar have been ominously placed in the final heat opening slot that seems to have become a graveyard for aging gay interest star comebacks, acts who all themselves put on a show for glittering disco moments and got little more than raised eyebrows from the Swedish viewers (let's take a moment to mourn Charlotte och ), and there may be a risk of 'heard it all before' here. I know I'm never one to SHY AWAY from creating a bit of melodrama when the veterans crash out, but as a SPECIES we will be all the poorer if this doesn't make it through in some way. Can the 'Zar overcome the curse of first? http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264740/melodifestivalen/article1719262.svt/alternates/large/ida.jpg 02: I.D.A. - Fight Me If You Dare Text och musik: Albin Nicklasson, Lousie Frick Sveen och Nicklas Laine Best known for: Lead singer Ida Pihlgren, finalist in the final season of Fame Factory (Sweden's import of Fame Academy) William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 13.00 / 12/1 / 8th William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 101.00 / 100/1 Christ Ida, that hair. It's not 2006 anymore. So you know how last week I mentioned we're down to one wildcard entrant? (Probably not even that next year after EKO came eighth). Well, what we do also have this year is an unknown songwriter selection - basically, nobodies get to submit a song and SVT picks the best one and picks an act to do it. So, we've got rock chick Ida and her bevy of cocks doing something she describes as "like a punch in the face of rock and revenge". Sadly, I think something got lost in translation there - I tend to go to the likes of Alcazar for bespoke punches in the face of rock - but yeah. This heat's far too competitive for me to have any time for a bunch of nobodies singing something by a bunch of nobodies in a genre appealing to a bunch of nobodies who have NO BUSINESS watching my homosexual pop contest, so justice would have it that this lot have the same fate as EKO - but can Ida trade off goodwill from being about as much of a name as Alex Parks would be these days? (Oh christ, now THAT'S a terrifyingly realistic option I hadn't considered for the British entry. Somebody get Lemar on the phone before it's too late.) http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264779/melodifestivalen/article1719263.svt/alternates/large/janetleon.jpg 03: Janet Leon - Hollow Text och musik: Jimmy Jansson, Karl-Ola Kjellholm och Louise Winter Best known for: Heartstrings (5th in heat 3, MF 2013) William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 5.50 / 9/2 / 5th William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 34.00 / 33/1 It's never really a good sign when an artist goes from this to the above, is it? Anyway, STAGE SCHOOL Jan was last year's big hyped arriviste, with the pre-contest echoes having her down as the breakout star of MF 2013 with a pop-disco confection that would slot her right into the hall of fame of Melodisco divas. What we got...well, I don't know about you, but I was STRUCK BLIND with shock that the 'spectacle' of someone with NEGATIVE CHARISMA hitting their marks with zero spontaneity and not even bothering to sing the main hook of their 8/10 disjointed gay interest only entry made it as high as fifth didn't qualify. STRUCK BLIND I tell you. Still, old Jan went off and clearly stole the notes out of Sanna's (perfectly ordered) revision folder marked 'How to pander to a Swedish audience that doesn't fall for glitter anymore'. So, she got the glitter out of her system by doing the official 2013 Stockholm Pride anthem , and she's back with a ballad. We've got ourselves a big spoon of JANSSONSFRESTELSE (hopefully fresher than Casanova was) and Kjellholm off Survivor's along for the ride, so this could be something nice - but still Janet, unimpressed as I was with you to begin with, you've got a big mark against your name for betraying THE CAUSE here. I can't think of many instances in recent years of anybody coming back from a hyped flop and doing any better the second time around (most people take the hint: Love Generation's are probably warning enough - slightly unfairly, given they'd probably still be a going concern had they gotten a few hundred more votes to beat out Linda Bengtzing and qualify from their heat at first try with the impeccable the year before). Can Janet make anything of her andra chansen - or indeed, even make it to andra chansen? http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264569/melodifestivalen/article1719254.svt/alternates/large/ammotrack.jpg 04: Ammotrack - Raise Your Hands Text och musik: Jari Kujansuu, Mikael de Bruin, Thomas ”Plec” Johansson och Calle Kindbom Best known for: They aren't. William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 4.50 / 7/2 / 4th William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 67.00 / 66/1 This lot were inspired to come on board by . I knew loving that would come back to bite me. Look, I've had this rant so many time that you're probably more bored of it than I am, but frankly if pop acts getting bottled with piss is something that's not only accepted but actively encouraged at rock festivals, I'm frankly all for the same being the case the other way around (but with poppers). http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264821/melodifestivalen/article1719265.svt/alternates/large/josefjohansson.jpg 05: Josef Johansson - Hela natten Text och musik: Josef Johansson, Peo Thyrén, Jonas Lundblad, Peter Boström och Thomas G:son Best known for: YouTube pop hit William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 2.75 / 7/4 / 3rd William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 26.00 / 25/1 Tunisian-Swede (never has a dual nationality sounded more like an unappetising salad) pop twink Josef's here along with one of the more interesting prospects of the whole contest - 'en blandning av arenapop, Enya och lite R. Kelly'. I trust I don't have to translate that for you to get the gist. Quite how Enya and arena pop are planning on getting together I don't know (somebody send out the emergency call to the Sheffield GUM clinics for David!), but a glance at those låtskrivarner gives the game away - we've got ourselves another G:SON OCH BOSTROM AFFAIR (I'm definitely doing Melodifestivalen bingo next year, and that's going on it: along with Kempe's latest twink, the Debs crowbarring themselves into the songwriter list for a turbofolk-dubstep hybrid, and an audience shot of a child looking faintly terrified by a drag queen/Charlotte Perrelli). Essentially what I THINK we're probably in for is something halfway between Euphoria and Mario Winans - I Don't Wanna Know, which gets me excited at least. If I had to pick any unknown prospect to be the one that steals the crown this year (and there's a lot of form for that happening in MF...), it'd be this. But with Anton Ewald basically having one final slot already tied up, will Sweden really send through two poppy twinks not a million miles away from each other in looks through in one go? Or will Josef be joining JEM to give G:son och Boström a double andra chansen headache? http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264866/melodifestivalen/article1719267.svt/alternates/large/lindabengtzing.jpg 06: Linda Bengtzing - Ta mig Text och musik: Nicke Borg och Jojo Borg-Larsson Best known for: Evergreen Melodifestivalen finalist William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 7.00 / 6/1 / 6th William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 67.00 / 66/1 Ladies and gentlemen, Linda Bengtzing. I know I may have given the impression at times that Shirley Clamp was my headline act for the year. But much as I love Shirl and all she stands for, only Min kärlek has come even CLOSE to anything this woman's entered. No no: I could live with Shirley dying. It's happened before. What absolutely will be the canary (dress) down the mine for the death of schlager will be if our mad-eyed Linda can't even make it through anymore. Here stands the only woman to never betray THE CAUSE and to also never fail to make it to a Melodifestivalen final. I'm in your corner this year so far Sanna - but don't think for a second I'm not deducting marks for effort here. So, let's go back to that schlager royalty metaphor we whapped out for San a couple of weeks back. If Sanna's the white bread Queen Elizabeth of the schlager family, Lena Philipsson's the Princess Diana (went out on a ), Danny's the Prince Edward (the mincey theatrical one prone to when he feels his oeuvre's unappreciated), Carola's the Queen Mum (earthly embodiment of evil), Måns is Prince William (HIS TIME WILL COME, and I'd sleep with him in a second despite the receding hairline), and Shirl is of course Fergie (looked briefly like making it despite wearing a horrific ensemble at all times, before everything went publicly tits up and now trading as a semi-novelty act). Linda Bengtzing's the Princess Margaret here: deeply fabulous and always close to the crown, but just a little too manic and inappropriate to ever be crowned and accepted by the people as the Empress of Schlager - but she DAMN WELL SHOULD HAVE BEEN. The only woman in the world responsible for four 12455/10 moments in a row, I'm certain Ta mig is going to go on to be a fifth - and that's a record not even Madonna can touch, so BOW DOWN. Roll the tape:First entry, RELENTLESS SCHLAGER MASTERPIECE Alla flickor (9th, MF 2005) Highlights: - horrific coat in a shade of orange normally only caught dead on a pumpkin - the money note of SHAME, followed by a series of howls (I can only presume Kati Wolf was fervently taking notes at this point) - the persistent rumours to this day that the song was about Adolf Hitler which were then denied by Linda on LIVE TELEVISION in a press conference to dismiss the matter (!) Second entry - one of the greatest songs ever, (7th, MF 2006) Highlights: - 'HA! Det kan du glömmar!' - *.* x infinity - TRIPLE costume change - the fact this was so maximally undeniable it managed what NO OTHER Bengtzing track did before proportional voting and actually got POINTS from the public (just 22 but that's BESIDES THE POINT) Third entry - (5th, MF 2008) Highlights: - the ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT - not a SINGLE botched note! *.* - the fun 4 '08 lesbian bob cut - the fact that even though this was basically DANSBAND she still managed to take it direkt in the same heat as Charlotte Perrelli - Hero - SE mig! HÖR mig! RÖR mig! - She's BRINGING TARTAN BACK - the ALL-CONSUMING MANIC JOIE DE VIVRE Fourth entry - (7th, MF 2011) Highlights: - That STATEMENT OF INTENT canary yellow ensemble - say what you will, but R LIND knows an iconic look when she SEES ONE - If a production which is the equivalent of punching a child in the face repeatedly with a disco ball isn't enough to get the message across, adding STAMPING IS - SÅ KAPITULERER JA-AAAA-AAAA-AAAG! - the fact that she decided to interpret the seemingly relatively straight-forward lyrics (on being married to someone great but being attracted to someone else) when interviewed as being about every woman's SECRET DESIRE to have a LESBIAN AFFAIR http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif - Sadly not on YouTube, but her winning the heat in one go represented the CULMINATION of Pernilla Wahlgren's campaign to 'RÄDDA SCHLAGERN' the year before (and to date represents its last triumph :() and is easily one of the all-time highlights of Melodifestivalen as one of the few PURE TRIUMPHS the gays could claim as their own - , where Linda: - throws BEAUCOUP SHADE at a Love Generation just dismissed to andra chansen amidst grumbles of RedOne carpetbagging ('my song could be a Love Generation song...except, you know, IN SWEDISH' - somebody sign this bitch up for UKIP now because THERE'S a woman who knows how to defend NATIONAL HERITAGE against CULTURAL INVADERS) - explains that she knew she'd succeed as 'well...I HAVE THE BEST SONG' - and stakes a claim as PHILOSOPHER OF OUR TIMES, reflecting that her popularity with the audience in the Harcourt Arms (where they aren't exactly CHOOSY so long as their vaginas are accompanied by key changes) is explainable as 'energy...doesn't have a language' (*deeply smug self-satisfied look*) - a statement which in many ways sums up the PHENOMENON OF LIND, as someone who's never allowed a commitment to the MUTTERTONGUE to be an obstacle to her when international icon status is just as easily achieved by tearing the LIVING SHIT out of anything you performI'm sure you can detect a consistent theme here - a stage presence so powerful it could WOUND A HORSE, key changes of such homosexual force they're probably explainable for each of their respective years' overactive Atlantic hurricane seasons, and ruthlessly predictable endings with an EMPHATIC SKYWARD PUNCH without fail every time (a habit I've picked up as a simple way of ending presentations/interviews/dates. I can't say it's been working so far in terms of results, but then it's never really worked on that front for Linda either). I'm guessing you can probably all see why I'm HEAD OVER HEELS for this bitch - and I WILL be taking names if you aren't too. Anyway, enough of that, ON WITH THE SONG. Linda's coming back from pregnancy ('All I can think about is that I want to still have my amazing pregnancy boobs in Melodifestivalen. All weapons will be necessary!') and hooking up with her fellow direkt finalist from 2011, rock artist , who's collaborated with his wife to write Linda a 'hard pop-electro-disco wallop' - Lind has, of course, already stated in interviews that she has this year's best song http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/disco.gif - and we're going to be in for something very special here. I need this to be in the final by (irresistible) hook or by crook more than you can even imagine. Can our certifiable (in all senses of the word) icon make it five finals in a row - or has the last bell tolled for Linda's generation? http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264671/melodifestivalen/article1719259.svt/alternates/large/ellinoreholmer.jpg 07: Ellinore Holmer - En himmelsk sång Text och musik: Ellinor Holmer, Åsa Schmalenbach, Vanna Rosenberg, Josefina Sanner, Amir Aly och Henrik Wikström Best known for: Total unknown who sang in an interval with the host Måns Zelmerlöw in MF 2010. Nope, me neither. William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 8.00 / 7/1 / 7th William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 126.00 / 125/1 God, this year really HAS gone overboard on the simpering girls with ballads, hasn't it? We already have Undo and Burning Alive representing for the returning veterans - I'm pretty sure we could've ditched one out of this, Hollow, En enkel sång and Songbird. Pretty though she is: Ellinore, you're surplus to requirements here. Anyway, this woman's dream since she was a little girl was to enter Melodifestivalen, which is a heartwarming enough backstory at least that that was enough to get her past a selection panel. She, uh, sang in an interval that I can't find a video of anywhere, and that's literally it. She's managed to get a decent songwriting team behind her - Amir Aly and Wikström are veterans with Melodiscographies that'd make your ears bleed glitter, but their most recent outing was last year's nice-but-nothing-more by charisma void Felicia Olsson, which shocked by making it as far as a Globen or Bust (and of course busting). I am fully expecting this to be nice-but-nothing-more, and in a heat as competitive as this and for a genre already represented in the final by Undo and Songbird, I'm hoping the voters will consider it nice-but-nothing-more too. Can Ellinore break out and take her dream a step further? http://www.svt.se/cachable_image/1389264609/melodifestivalen/article1719257.svt/alternates/large/antonewald.jpg 08: Anton Ewald - Natural Text och musik: John Lundvik Best known for: Getting the biggest hit of last year's MF with (MF 2013, 4th) William Hill odds on going direkt till finalen (decimal / fractional / projected heat finish): 1.20 / 1/5 / 1st William Hill odds on winning Melodifestivalen (d / f): 6.00 / 5/1 Making an entrance last year by gifting Sweden with the most uncompromising set of blowjob lips ever seen on the Melodifestivalen stage, Ewald made enough of a name for himself out of his andra chansen momentum to finish third in the public vote, giving him just enough leverage to wriggle out of Kempe's clutches this time around. He's back, he's in it to win it, and he's bagged himself the pimp slot of the whole damned thing. Not bad for a glorified backing dancer who started out on support duties for the absolute BOTTOM RUNG of schlager 'stars': (a woman who takes the role of the Countess of Wessex in the schlager royal line: NEVER WAS and prone to stillbirths). So, Anton's found himself as this year's 'chosen one'. It's also pretty clear that he's one of the three entrants Christer referred to as having entries 'good enough to win Eurovision' this year (for obvious reasons Christer hasn't confirmed who they are, but I'm guessing the other two were Survivor and Undo. Well, two out of three ain't bad.), but he has to go up against a few expectations first. Off the bat: nobody's won from the pimp slot since Malena's in 2009. Since then, it's been four years of overhyped contenders - each getting enough resentment from certain quarters that they'd been deemed good enough to be the preordained favourites that it immediately put paid to most of their chances (step up Hollow, , and - and though going up against Euphoria was always going to be difficult and was more competitive than history credits Danny for, it can't have helped him either). Not only that, but so far this year not a single one of the pimp slot contestants has made it direkt till the final - probably not as much of a worry for Anton, but it's still a duck to break. Also, he's up against himself. The criticisms last year of how much he relied on the pre-recorded backing vocals for the performance of Begging stung him a bit, so the confirmation that he's going for something 'less electronic and more soulful' this year sounds like it's probably headed for more of a focus on vox - which isn't something that immediately comes to mind as a strength of someone who came into this business as a backing singer. Still, he's bringing out the gospel choir, and he says Natural's going to be giving '100% on tempo, 100% on dance and 100% on show'. He's got the looks, he's got the fanbase, and he's got the hype. Can he get the win? -x- TIMETABLE Thursday: Minute long rehearsal clips will be uploaded to SVT, along with rehearsal reviews from the media (take it with a pinch of salt however - in 2012 Loreen's clip underwhelmed hugely, with only the media hype going into overdrive post-rehearsal giving any hint as to what lay ahead, and last year the schlager lovers all lost their shit en masse at the Swedish House Wives' clip before most (NOT I) abandoned ship after watching the whole thing) Friday: Reviews of the second rehearsal will be released, along with the notoriously hit-or-miss results of the gen-rep poll of audience members at the rehearsal Saturday: In the afternoon, we'll get 2:30 clips of the songs (to deter piracy) uploaded to SVT. A livestream of the heat will start at 7pm GMT on svt.se/melodifestivalen It's the last week - so, for the last time this year, let us PREDICT, SPECULATE, and SPURT http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/disco.gif
February 20, 201411 yr You never mentioned Andreas' solo effort! :o (It wasn't anything SPECIAL but still)
February 20, 201411 yr Author Aldrig aldrig was NICE but there are only so many asides I can cram into SIX PARAGRAPHS ON ALCAZAR before it becomes unreadable (and it's PUSHING IT AS IS)
February 20, 201411 yr Author PREDIX: DTG: Anton Ewald, Linda Bengtzing AC: Josef Johansson, Alcazar 05: Ammotrack (DISMISSED by Linda or Bust) 06: Janet Leon 07: Ellinore Holmer 08: I.D.A.
February 20, 201411 yr Author Also I better get some FUCKING INTERACTION this time as I LITERALLY BLED for this week's write-up (not heavily but still) (also as to INTENSIFY the disco orgasm I've decided I'm going in totally cold without any clips whatsoever this week, so I'll be relying on all your reviews to FROTH ME UP)
February 20, 201411 yr I LITERALLY BLED for this week's write-up (not heavily but still) Well, that's what you get when you DON'T RELAX
February 20, 201411 yr predixxx DTG: Anton Ewald, Janet Leon AC: Josef Johansson, Ammotrack 05: Alcazar 06: Linda Bengtzing 07: Ellinore Holmer 08: I.D.A. I really think Janet will do it this time
February 20, 201411 yr I really hope Janet can make it in some form this time. Both Heartstrings and New Colours are FANTASTIC and I know she has an album waiting to go and we might not get it if she flops again. Anton seems like he's pretty much SKIPPED the amazing second album era of Eric straight to the boring R&B/''soulful'' crap he's trying to peddle these days. Not as excited for that song as I would have been for Popular 2.0 (or 8.0 really, given it's Kempe). Speaking of Kempe, he might finally be the one to make me LIKE Alcazar, but we shall see. The rest are a variation of don't know/don't care.
February 20, 201411 yr Oh and: DTF: Anton Ewald, Josef Johansson AC: Linda Bengtzing, Janet Leon 05 Ammotrak 06 Alcazar 07 Ellinore Holmer 08 I.D.A.
February 20, 201411 yr I swear if Anton has an acoustic guitar on stage we're THROUGH. After last week's pop triumph, I'm far more optimistic of Alcazar and Linda making it through somehow. DTG: Anton Ewald, Alcazar AC: Linda Bengtzing, Ammotrack 5th: Janet Leon (You KNOW it's happening again) 6th: Josef Johansson 7th: I.D.A. 8th: Ellinore Holmer
February 20, 201411 yr Here for Alcazar, hopefully they can produce something of Stay The Night proportions. I.D.A look pretty interesting, and I would say Ammotrack but I'm kind of sated on that front with Outrigger. I'll still be interested, although with so many names in this heat I kinda hope they go nowhere for everyone else's sake. I'm not heartless (and the names here are mostly good at least). Linda could be good I'm sure, and I'm interested to see what Janet follows up Heartstrings with. The other two... we'll see. Anton... I really hope it's better than Begging, because I can't deal with it being a contender otherwise. The descriptions look to be going that way at least though. Preliminary predix: DTF: Anton Ewald, Linda Bengtzing AC: Alcazar, Janet Leon 5th: Ammotrack 6th: Josef Johansson 7th: Ellinore Holmer 8th: I.D.A
February 20, 201411 yr You never mentioned Andreas' solo effort! :o (It wasn't anything SPECIAL but still) Which one?
