February 22, 201412 yr Author After the last three weeks, I wouldn't rule out a curveball at all, but given the audience ACTIVELY GROANED when IDA won the mock Globen or Bust in rehearsals I sense that one probably isn't going to be a crowdpleaser!
February 22, 201412 yr I literally have no idea. Nothing really seems like a "curveballer" at all. IDA sounds annoying, Ellinore looks like she's been shoved onto the stage as a punishment, Ammotrack is unbelievably forgetful and Janet has all the stage presence of a ghost whilst croaking her way through a way too challenging ballad. But, I really don't the feel of 'DTG' from any of them other than Ewald and I don't think that's even just me being biased. PERHAPS Alcazar and I may be blinded by my bemusement but I'm not convinced that's what Sweden is still all over in 2014. Bengtzing doesn't sound like she's got a strong chorus in her but perhaps her energy could sell her. I'm tempted to say Josef will get the 2nd spot by process of elimination but I'm not totally convinced by that either. Baring in mind this is supposedly the 'heat of death', it seems like one of the weakest and last week's which looked really weak on paper, actually had some really good songs in it.
February 22, 201412 yr Yeah, Janet is f***ed. No way she will be able to pull off that money note. IDA is so shit omg
February 22, 201412 yr The studio of Janet's sounds pretty good! Still coming 5th though. Alcazar *.* *.* *.*
February 22, 201412 yr Alcazar *.* It's not quite up there with Stay The Night, and would probably die on its arse at Eurovision, but it's an instantly high entry into their back catalogue of pop classics. So much better than Headlines.
February 22, 201412 yr Is Anton's out there? It's going to take a lot of willpower for me not to cave in and listen :(
February 22, 201412 yr Josef SO GOOD! <3 Linda omg that instrumental part at the end is pretty damn good! So f***ing energetic and chaotic. Very Linda indeed. 5th place :'( (but i'm going to predict AC~) Ellinore omg SNOOZEFESTIVALEN... ALTHOUGH if the ending is strong it can stand a chance to finish 6th Anton... He is winning the entire thing. Mark my words. DTF: Anton, Alcazar AC: Linda, Josef 5th: Ammotrack 6th: Janet 7th: Ellinore 8th: IDA
February 22, 201412 yr Really underwhelmed by Anton's song, in fact I'd say I prefer Alcazar, Janet, Josef and Linda to it, but of course it will be going direkt tonight. Only 'Survivor' and 'Undo' would have a chance of winning Eurovision.
February 22, 201412 yr Gonna miss this tonight because I have a date. :( Guess what I'm gonna do tonight, ooh ooh baby that's right! Edited February 22, 201412 yr by Vülker
February 22, 201412 yr I've just listened to Anton's and Janet's songs for now. 'Natural' is so so much better than 'Begging' which I never quite loved as much as some people, I don't quite think it's a Melodifestivalen winner but it should definitely finish top 3 in the final. Really liking 'Hollow', not quite as good as 'Heartstrings' on first listen but it's very good and definitely deserves to make the final but I don't think it will! :( 'Survivor' and 'Busy Doin' Nothin' are definitely my favourites but I'd also be happy with Anton, Janet (if she somehow makes it to the final) or Sanna winning. I haven't heard all of the finalists or Andra Chansen qualifiers though so my opinion is subject to change!
February 22, 201412 yr I'm getting all sorts of winner vibes from Josef Johansson. If this doesn't go DTF tonight it'll storm AC and do a Robin Stjernberg. Or close, I don't know. Alcazar's song is a hell of a ear worm and it'll be down to the wire between them, Josef and the fabulous Linda to make it to the Final. I wonder if there'll be a Lisa Miskovsky moment today and Linda/Alcazar would be left to last fighting with Anton for Friends or Bust. :o DTF: Anton, Josef AC: Linda, Alcazar 5th: Janet 6th: IDA 7th: Ammotrack 8th: Ellinore
February 22, 201412 yr It's literally just struck me, I may be WAY OFF (I've still only listened to the 1 minute dress rehearsal things as ever) but does the instrumental of Bengtzing's song, more in the verses than anything, remind anyone of Me & My Drum's production?
February 22, 201412 yr I can see this FINALLY being Sanna's year, I don't know if that's just me being hopeful though... The studio 2:30 of Hollow has me so worried :( Excellent song (although not quite as good as Heartstrings which was by far and away my favourite MF track of last year and even my favourite Eurovision related track of last year) and it's probably my 2nd favourite behind Undo (or 3rd behind that and Busy Doin' Nothing), but as much as I love Janet there there's very little chance that she'll pull off a vocally challenging song like that. On the off chance she does, it could be seriously impressive, but if she failed with Heartstrings then I'm inclined to think she won't even make 5th. I agree with Ryan on Natural (although I much prefer Begging), it's pretty good but it doesn't quite sound like a winner to me. It will still do very well though and could snatch the win, but personally I think it's Sanna's to lose. Linda's song sounds so good as well! Very busy and chaotic in parts, I think it might translate to a wonderful performance. Predix after the clips would be: DTF Anton, Josef AC Alcazar, Linda 5th IDA (something will have to shock in this heat surely?) 6th Janet 7th Ammotrak 8th Ellinore I'd like: DTF Janet, Linda AC Anton, Josef 5th Alcazar 6th IDA 7th Ammotrak 8th Ellinore
February 22, 201412 yr Gonna miss this tonight because I have a date. :( Guess what I'm gonna do tonight, ooh ooh baby that's right! Girl. There's seriously something wrong with your priorities in this life.
February 22, 201412 yr In all honesty, Hela natten is my favourite song of that bunch (in studio at least, still waiting to see how Bengtzing brings it tonight!). Also, do the songs get released in full studio tonight or is it after andra chansen?
February 22, 201412 yr Author The CD has typically arrived around midnight after heat 4 the last few years.
February 22, 201412 yr Girl. There's seriously something wrong with your priorities in this life. Awks, he just cancelled because his friend is not alright. I never understood this excuse. Surely his friend is old enough to take care of her/himself and most probably would want to be left alone. Anyway I guess my date with [petramede]ALCAZAR![/petramede] is back on track. EDIT: He's terrible sorry but he doesn't quite know what he's looking for right now. ERM, huh? When did I say anything about getting married today? At least Alcazar never fail me. February 22, 201412 yr 'Hela natten' is so going to the final and it's thoroughly deserved. Revised predictions - DTG: Anton, Josef AC: Alcazar, Linda Bengtzing 5th: Ammotrack 6th: Janet Leon 7th: Ellinore Holmer 8th: I.D.A.
