It makes me sad that one of their best songs will be one of, if not their most under-performing singles ever.

Agreed! I felt exactly the same way when Work peaked at 22. With that though, at least they sold loads of copies of Chasing Lights, Living For The Weekend failed in terms of sales, so this is turning out to be a much bigger disaster, and it is a real shame considering the song is so bloody good!!

There is a difference between work and NGU though - work was back when they were fresh and people were interested. Now people just see them as a mummy and daddy sort of band because 3/5 are mothers and are getting on a bit in their music career B-)

But then again Work was released as the 5th single from a "verging-on-Platinum" album whereas this is being released traditionally as a pre-album single.. Work was also meant to be the 4th single hence why they started promoting it earlier (Saturday Night Takeaway), then they were approached by Comic Relief - thus sort of shunting the promotion. Also Work peaked during the week of Michael Jackson's passing.

Blahblahblah

:)

Work sold 100k+ from an album that went platinum. Apart from it's peak, it was quite the success, selling way more than pre-album singles 30 Days, Heart Takes Over and Gentleman. At this point I'd be extatic if NGU could come close to Work's sales.
This is all very true! It just bugs me that it is recorded as their lowest charting single, when it's dead good. But it is true there were a lot of factors that should be taken into account in that regard, none more than the actual impressive sales for a song that only peaked at 22. I'm just praying that NGU at least comes close to the top 10!

In true Living For The Weekend style, it'll probably peak at ten or lower and then drop out completely

MTV are showing a behind the scenes video fo this then more saturdays stuff all day today!
Ooh yay! :cheer: That's good then. A little bit of exposure at last :D

MTV done a Little Mix vs The Saturdays thing a few weeks ago. They showed Wings, DNA, Change Your Life and Move for Little Mix and 30 Days, Gentleman, Forever Is Over and What About Us for The Saturdays. Pfft!

So they show all the best Little Mix songs but not for The Saturdays! Shoulda shown "What About Us", "All Fired Up", "Higher" and "Not Giving Up" FFS!

30 Days, Gentleman >>>>> Higher :puke:
Higher, All Fired Up, What About Us, Ego and one of Up/Missing/Issues are the definitive Saturdays tracks.

The Saturdays: a catalog filled with ballads, up-tempo, bubblegum pop, rap (lol), dance tracks

Little Mix: about 5 songs to choose from all sounding pretty much the same.

So Una's requesting Not Giving Up too now. Haha!

@imjamesbarr: "#ThatAwkwardMoment when you're about to press play on @TheSaturdays when @UnaTheSats come over for a request and you're like... errrrrr"

I can imagine the phone call:

James Barr: We've got a listener on the phone for a request. Hi, what's your name and how's your weekend going?

Una: Hi, I'm sooo excited to be calling you. I'm so happy it's a Saturday, that's my favourite day of the week. I just love it, I'm always LIVING FOR THE WEEKEND. Which by the way is my favourite album of recent times and you should all check it out. Btw, the song I'm requesting is a massive banger called "Not Giving Up" taken from that amazing al-

James Barr: Erm, wha-

Una: -bum. And I just want to say how amazing it is, and make sure you all go and buy it. And I'm such a massive fan of this song, it's so good and it kind of reminds me of The Saturdays' other single All Fire-

James Barr: Can I jus-

Una: -d Up which was a massive hit for them. If you don't have that yet, where have you been. Check it out, it's amazing and the ending is so cool talking about keeping on someone's radar. Btw, it's from an album call On Your Radar, how clever is that! It's the album before Living For The Weekend, which is what I am doing! (WOOOOO!) *laughs*

James Barr: Right. What was your name again?

Una: That's such a funny story. Basically my mum was like-

James Barr: Seriously, what is your name?

Una: -I'm not really sure what to call her and then opened this big book of Irish names. Btw, I'm from Ireland and I LOVE IRELAND! WOOOOOO! Living for the Irish. *laughs*

James Barr: I'm afraid we're gonna have to say goodbye now.

Una: OK, I'm not giving up on living for the weekend though! *laughs*

James Barr: Yeah bye.
