well, one little bird is a snowbird, Anne Murray's MOR glorious pop confection from 1970

Edited by popchartfreak

Another little bird was the subject of a song by Annie Lennox (another Anne as well). It was a double a-side with Love Song For A Vampire

i was gonna be obvious and go Eurythmics, but not obvious and go Shame with that glorious 60's hippie trip video. Sadly Eurythmics videos dont exist on youtube so stuff that, which is a shame indeed.

Tourists? Holiday? No, not that one, the Other Ones

I was hoping Annie Lennox would lead to the glorious song that is The Loneliest Man In The World but a different Tourists song was chosen. Ah well :( Anyway, the logical step from The Other Ones is The Other Two (as in the other two from New Order) and their number 41 smash hit Tasty Fish

Let's put the other two from New Order with the other two from New Order and make New Order...according to page 1 they haven't been on yet. Soon put that straight...

I also hoped for Loneliest Boy In The World - I suggest checking out my 1979 charts in the autumn to see a much better chart position for it.

Meanwhile, Bizarrely I used to be a big fan of Bizarro-Superman, or as laurie Anderson sang at length, Bizarre? O Superman!

Another Anderson was Brett Anderson who was in Suede with one time member justine frischman who dated Damon Albarn who worked with Bobby Womack

great to see Bobby listed. His brother Cecil also died recently (last year). With his missus, Sam Cooke's daughter, he had a great run of singles as House Of Zekkarius, and as Womack And Womack.

Here's the best one: Love Wars

Love Wars was covered by The Beautiful South as a b-side to Let Love Speak Up Itself. Here's the A side then, but re-recorded by Jacqueline Abbott for the initial 2 disc version of Carry On Up The Charts - intended I believe to even out the vocals on the first half of the compilation.

Talk Talk's first hit was with a song called Talk Talk. While many acts release eponymous albums, very few release eponymous songs. Here's an early example from Bo Diddley (not his real name).

According to a Jesus and Mary Chain B-Side, Bo Diddley is Jesus...but instead of a B-side, let's have an A-side....their first...

Jesus and Mary, well I can't pass up the chance to push one of the great passionate movie vocal performances, the late Carl Anderson as Judas, addressing a... superstar.

Beautiful landscapes, ruthless politics, oppression for beliefs, killing people who are slightly (but not much) different... yes things have really changed in 2000 years.

Jesus was born of a virgin (yeah, whatever Mary..) and founded the Church.

It's a good job he did, because 1,988 years later they released "Under The Milky Way" - and God saw that it was good.

I literally just discovered this while trying to think of tracks to do with Mars and now feel compelled to share so that I'm not the only one to have to endure the experience.
