March 6, 201411 yr I don't think it's a good idea, I mean I see both sides of the argument. It is generally home owners that still sit in front of a box and actually watch a TV... I think most people watch TV online nowadays.
March 16, 201411 yr I love BBC3, probably one of my favourite TV channels. It's such a shame going, 'Junior Paradmedics', 'Don't Tell The Bride' :( It's one of those channels I could watch anything on, if there's nothing I particularly want to watch elsewhere. Biggest question for me is, what's going to happen to Cherry Healey??? One of my favourite presenters ! (I would assume she'll switch to another BBC channel etc.)
March 16, 201411 yr Internet TV is the future. If you already have one.It won't be a problem. Streaming will soon be the way forward with all TV & Radio. It's not really problem. Anymore than going digital was.
March 16, 201411 yr It's not going. It's being moved to the iPlayer only. IT'S NOT THE SAME. But as long as she's still making documentaries everything is ok with the world. Internet TV is the future. If you already have one.It won't be a problem. Streaming will soon be the way forward with all TV & Radio. It's not really problem. Anymore than going digital was. But people living in Rural areas where broadband is still not THAT fast are hardly going to want to faff about with having to buffer a TV programme and end up taking over and hour to watch a 30 minute episode. I personally think it's a bad choice to move BBC three Online. The programmes they air aren't programmes I necessarily watch religiously every week, but I do enjoy watching when they're on and I'm free. ('Snog Marry Avoid' say HEY). Like, I wouldn't be at home going "ooh, must go online and watch 'snog marry avoid'". Whereas with something like 'Eastenders' I probably would / watch it later on catch up. I think it's a couple of years too early for TV to be played via the Internet. Edited March 16, 201411 yr by casey__
January 23, 201510 yr The BBC Trust has begun the public consultation period for the BBC Three proposal: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/news/press_r...three_proposals So if you feel strongly on the closure of BBC Three as a TV channel, you can finally have your say!
February 25, 201510 yr It's been reported today that BBC Three has lost the rights to Family Guy and it will be aired instead on ITV 2. I guess that's the final nail in the coffin for BBC Three still possibly being a TV channel since Family Guy is its biggest/most consistent performer in the ratings.
February 25, 201510 yr Something inside of me really doesn't feel comfortable seeing Family Guy on ITV and I don't know why.
February 25, 201510 yr ADVERTS BLOODY ADVERTS and worst of all it will be ADVERTS for their stupid mind numbing shows about ''real'' people in ''real'' situations living ''real'' lives.
February 26, 201510 yr Author Something inside of me really doesn't feel comfortable seeing Family Guy on ITV and I don't know why. when is ITV2 going to start showing family guy? i still can't believe this is happening, BBC3 becoming an online channel. it will be so sad to watch it close, though i hope that all the original commedy will show on the online version.. what's going to replace bbc3?

There's no official confirmation of the change yet. Some of the shows are moving/have been moved to BBC 1/2. For example: Backchat and Don't Tell The Bride. The remaining shows will be online exclusives on BBC iPlayer. It's TV slot will be taken up by BBC One +1 apparently to still allow for EastEnders, Doctor Who etc. repeats.

February 26, 201510 yr 'Family Guy' is staying with BBC until 2017 at least according to their twitter!
February 26, 201510 yr But surely they'll be left without anywhere to air Family Guy when BBC Three closes this year? Also, why would ITV say they've got the rights, when they don't? All very odd.
February 26, 201510 yr ADVERTS BLOODY ADVERTS and worst of all it will be ADVERTS for their stupid mind numbing shows about ''real'' people in ''real'' situations living ''real'' lives. OMG THIS!!! Closing BBC3 is just going after the youth as the quietest/ easiest group to target. It's way more popular than BBC4 - but BBc4 will have a much louder viewer base who would campaign and write letters, etc. Absolute joke.
February 26, 201510 yr Most of BBC Three's scheduled is filled with absolute rubbish or repeats from BBC One though. Here's the programmes from the past week: Snog, Marry, Avoid [absolute trash] Don't Tell The Bride [ok, moving to BBC One this year] Waterloo Road [already axed] Uncle Cuckoo EastEnders [bBC One repeats] Family Guy [uS import] American Dad [uS import] World's Toughest Jobs Top Gear [bBC Two repeats] Bangkok Airport FILM: Deja Vu Russell Howard's Good News [Repeats; now moved to BBC Two] Live At The Apollo [bBC One repeats] Doctor Who [bBC One repeats] Tough Young Teachers Great ... Mistakes [Repeats] The Voice UK [bBC One repeat] I Surveeved a Zombie Apocalypse [trash] 12am onwards is filled with repeats of programmes aired in the past week Out of that list only Bangkok Airport, Uncle and Cuckoo are actually worth 'keeping', the BBC 3 schedule is filled with repeats, films and imports. The only thing I'll miss it for is when it's Radio 1's Big Weekend etc. but at least they have the Red Button for that.

I don't mean to get politcial but it's so sad that this is true. There were plans to axe BBC4 a few years ago but it was stopped after numerous campaigns. However, the channel does get fewer viewership and the programmes are more suitable on BBC Two than BBC Three's are to the terrestrial channels. It's just a shame that younger people are being overlooked again. Yes, you can argue that ITV2 and E4 are also targeting the same audience, but they don't offer the documentary style programmes thay BBC Three does which engages younger people and gets them involved with the news/politics.
February 26, 201510 yr There is indeed a lot of rubbish on BBC3. However, Being Human and In The Flesh are two of the best programmes of recount years.
