It's going to be major struggle for Kylie to keep the era going with the likelihood of any hit singles from the album being slim at best.

I assume you mean 'any *more*'.

I keep saying this....Kylie has not started her promo yet!!!!! Friday it starts

As for midweek sales, I won't believe them until I see them in b/w in the MW report.

I actually think 'I was going to cancel' could do well and sell the album. I would forget 'Into the blue' which is a good song but was never going so set the charts on fire.
I Was Gonna Cancel is one of the weakest on the album IMO. Don't think it'd do a lot at all, although it'd do better than the actual 2nd single will (Beautiful).

OK, if you're going to be a pedant with your terminology I will re-phrase it for you: "any successful singles".

As much as the whole world adores Kylie, this whole 'Kiss me Once' era has been a huge mess-up, from the weak lead single to the lack of promotion to the wrong timing, not to mention the 10$ budget video and her last few performances which were mostly in small pubs and gyms.... all this didn't help her at all...

on the other hand, George Michael hasn't released anything since 2004 (apart from some promo singles) and Symphonica is his first new recorded material since 10 years... Kylie just messed up with this release and if her managment doesn't do anything to fix it, then I'm sure that, by the time she releases her nexr album, she would be as relevant as Kim Wilde or Sinitta...

I pretty much agree with everything you have said. I don't like the way this era has been handled at all so far. Into the blue was a decent enough single though but lack of promotion and deleting the singles version on iTunes was a major flaw which prevented it from at least getting a week in the top 10. Its hard to see what else from the album will actually do well though.

I personally think her at number two is a great result, despite my hope for her to reach the top spot. I am more hoping for longevity and that she can pass the platinum mark sales and more. But like some people said, she will fare much better touring.

P.S. I Was Gonna Cancel for second single please!!!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Number 2 is great but disappointing when many had thought number 1 was in the bag

According to Sayhey Kylie is now on 16,877 and 9k behind George Michael

Ouch at that gap :o

Is the second single not Sexcersize?

Nope, she filmed a video for some sort of side project.

The second single is 'Beautiful' which is almost as bad a choice.

I agree. What was Parlophone thinking?!?!?!?

I think they probably know the likelihood of getting hit singles are slim so are hoping the fact it's a collaboration can do something. I can see their reasoning behind that, I just wish the song was actually good.

Hmm, collaborations did some favours for some songs, did they? Despite most recent ones being from mediocre to awful. With that being said, Beautiful is easily the weakest song from the album, I think. On Deezer, it is the least popular track by far.

I Was Gonna Cancel, Les Sex or Sexy Love should be the second single, followed by If Only as a definite third single.

I can confirm those sales are correct. George is on 25k

Well, a #2 with solid sales and steady run would be okay

Let's just hope her team and herself get it together and promote. The fact that she hasnt done any promotion yet can certainly help the coming weeks of the album run since the GP is yet to be impacted by 'kylie'

So far only the fans are on this project.

Just a little titbit of chart info, I can reveal Little Mix are top 5, physicals must be doing something.

I can also reveal Nicholas MacDonald is not inside the top 40 singles chart, but he has a chart entry in the album chart, reveal more later.

With 14 new albums in the top 40, 6 of those new entries inside the top 10.
