All I'm going to say Kylie is looking very comfortable, so so far away from Skrillex, her beautiful bum is safe. :D

Midweek Singles Charts: Duke Dumont dominating midweek singles

Duke Dumont is readying his second UK No 1 single out of two releases as I Got U outsells its nearest rival by nearly three copies to one.

The Blasé Boys Club/Virgin EMI single reached nearly 70,000 up to the end of Tuesday, according to the Official Charts Company, with Rinse/Virgin EMI’s Route 94’s My Love featuring Jess Glynne holding at 2 with around 25,000 sales. Duke Dumont topped the chart last year with I Need U (100%).

Columbia’s John Legend could be heading for a new UK singles chart peak with All Of Me rising 6-3 as sales lift 36%. His 2005 hit Ordinary People is his current best showing, having reached No 4 in 2012 after enjoying a new lease of life through being covered on BBC One’s The Voice.

Little Mix are aiming for a fifth Top 10 hit with the Syco-issued Word Up new at 4 as Ministry of Sound track Tsunami (Jump) by DVBBS and Bourgeous featuring Tinie Tempah drops 1-5.

Pharrell Williams’ RCA-handled chart-topper Happy declines 3-6 as Atlantic signings Clean Bandit’s Rather Be featuring Jess Glynne falls 5-7 and Virgin act Katy Perry’s Dark Horse featuring Juicy J falls 7-8. Republic/Island act Enrique Iglesias’s I’m A Freak featuring Pitbull is down 4-9 in the week so far, while Example is aiming for a fifth Top 10 hit in his own right with the Epic-issued Kids Again currently showing up as a new entry at 10.

Avicii’s Positiva/PRMD single Addicted To You continues to progress with sales up 61% in the week to date to lift it 24-16, while Atlantic’s Trey Songz is new at 17 with Na Na.

Meanwhile, the Human League’s Eighties classic Don’t You Want Me is subject to an unexpected chart revival after Aberdeen football fans used it as a chant to cheer on their winning team at the weekend. The club lifted the Scottish League Cup, their first trophy in 19 years, in a match in which their supporters chanted “Peter Pawlett baby” to the tune of the Human League hit, which reached No 1 in 1981 and has sold around 1.6 million copies in the UK, making it Virgin Records’ most successful single of all time. It is back at No 21 on the midweeks as the result of a social media campaign. - Source: MW, by Paul Williams

Midweek Album Charts: George Michael set for chart-topping return

George Michael’s first album since 2006 is set to score him his seventh solo No1 in the UK.

The EMI-issued Symphonica has opened up a sales lead of around 50% over Kiss Me Once, the new album from Parlophone’s Kylie Minogue, with Pharrell Williams’ G I R L in third spot, according to the Official Charts Company.

Symphonica is the first album from Michael since the retrospective Twenty five, which topped the chart in November 2006. That was his sixth solo chart-topper in the UK, a sequence dating back to Faith in 1987, while with Wham! he reached No 1 twice.

Minogue’s Kiss Me Once is the follow-up to 2010’s chart-topping Aphrodite and her first since Parlophone was acquired last year by Warner. With Symphonica it is among an onslaught of six brand new entries in the Top 10 at this stage of the week, while there are a further eight new entries between positions 11 and 40.

Going To Hell, New York City band Pretty Reckless’s second album and first for Cooking Vinyl, is new at 6 currently, the same position where their 2010 debut Light Me Up peaked. Immediately below are three further new entries from Nicholas McDonald, Lea Michele and Kian Egan.

X Factor 2013 runner-up McDonald’s RCA debut In The Arms Of An Angel is placed seventh in the week so far, while Glee star Lea Michele’s first solo outing Louder on Columbia is eighth. Former Westlife star Kian Egan is also venturing out as a solo act for the first time with the Rhino-handled Home new at 9.

The high number of brand new entries means only four survivors from last Sunday’s Top 10 remain in the 10 at this point in the week. They are led by RCA-handled Pharrell Williams’ G I R L holding at 3, while Fiction/Polydor act Elbow’s The Take Off And Landing Of Everything drops 1-4, RCA act Paloma Faith’s A Perfect Contradiction falls 2-5 and John Legend’s Columbia set Love In The Future drops 6-10.

US electronic artist Skrillex heads the new entries outside the Top 10 with his new Asylum/Atlantic title at 11 as Republic/Island’s Enrique Iglesias pops up in 12th position in the week so far with Sex And Love. Other brand new entries come from EMI’s American Authors in 14th position, Secretly Canadian’s War On Drugs in 15th spot and Integrity Music’s Rend Colective in 20th.

A new Belinda Carlisle retrospective from DMG TV is 23rd, while Engelbert Humperdinck is heading for his first charting studio album since 2001 with the Conehead-issued Engelbert Calling in 28th. He previously charted in 2012 with compilation Release Me – The Best Of. - Source: MW, by Paul Williams

Hey Now by LG are top 40!! :cheer:

Really hope they can hold on, though it would be extremely unlikely

Pleasantly surprised to hear Human League on the chart update :) who was it on the other thread who said radio 1 wouldnt playt old music and would be forced to in the chart - they are even playing it on the chart update where they chose the new entries to play!!

In at no 21 already btw

Edited by steve201

69K for Duke Dumont already - thats more like a friday mids figure so unless it slows down it could do 150k or so which is brillant. Also 1-5 drop at least for Tsumami but suppose it was a bit of a non number 1 in reality!
George has his seventh solo Number One Album then.......

Am surprised that he's beating Kylie tbh. :o

I keep saying this....Kylie has not started her promo yet!!!!! Friday it starts

If she's beaten to No.1 this week by George she won't climb next week as predicted by someone on another forum, as Sam Bailey will be No.1. with Mother's Day approaching. :)

Ugh... Another album of covers, George Michael's album is not exactly new material apart from 1 track. :(

And equally worth remembering that George Michael is one.

I still can't believe this - I considered him a has-been, and didn't even predict his album for top 5, let alone beating Kylie to #1...

very bad sales for Kylie.... at this point she will struggle to sell 30 k of her album which is even less than her acoustic 'Abbey Road' album... this whole era was a complete mess-up for her....

for her to miss out on the number 1 spot in such a low sales climate then i would have to say her career is pretty much over to say the least... :(

I wouldn't say that, Madonna is recording her new album with Avicii, and she is much older than Kylie

The claims of Kylie flopping and her career being over is getting ridiculous - she's outselling all but one album!

For one week, but this has a 2-19 chart run written all over it.

Even if that did happen, it wouldn't mean her career is over. It shows that she has a strong fan-base and as long as they're there, she'll still be able to continue making music and going on tours and what not.
