New peak hopefully!! Very good start. Think it's helped by being higher on iTunes than MM was. Gutted it's not gonna keep this top 10 position though but I never expected it to tbf.

8-12-17 in the midweeks so far. :( Looks like #19 will definitely remain as its peak position (and it only achieved that position because of an error! :o )

Assuming that this will end up somewhere within the 21-25 region on Sunday.

Can it chart at #23 please so it'll have dropped 4, then 5, then 6 places :kink: #patternz
Climbed to #22 in the charts! A bit of a shame after the midweek position of #8, but pretty inevitable.

Their run of hits in Ireland is more impressive than in the UK! :o They've still got a string of Top 10s going on.

I know #3 for 'Midnight Memories' was achieved in Ireland thanks to the instant grat being chart eligible, but lol at the #3 / #39 difference between Ireland and the UK.

I'm really surprised they didn't have a slot on BGT last week. Might have gave it a new peak even if it was #16 or something.

Slay!

It's kind of funny to think that their current single is only #40 in the charts, over the weekend that One Direction perform 3 sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium.

So I take it there was no impact from them performing at Big Weekend at all? :(

The album's in the top 20!

Glad it's got a third week top 40 :D Not too bad all things considered, Midnight Memories barely got one week and this has three ~

Suppose it just highlights how bad a choice 'Midnight Memories' was charts-wise. I wouldn't swap the video for anything, but the likes of 'Happily' or 'Strong' could have had the opportunity to perform much better!
Really do not think Strong would have done any better at all. Happily could definitely have done, had they handled the release better ~

'Midnight Memories' probably could have gone top 20 at least if they had done the promo around the time it was actually released. no 'Strong' shade tho pls --

It's not shade, it's just that the song doesn't sound like a hit at all to me :P

And yeah, Midnight Memories should either have not had an XF performance, or had the video and EP released within a month of the performance, like with Kiss You. Not 3 months.

The video though, ugh, imagine *.*

Should have had them perform it on Splash! as opposed to XF :kink:

I wish they'd found time to do a performance for BGT - that surely would have helped 'You & I' out a fair bit. :( 'You & I' reached #22 in release week, whereas 'Salute' reached #24 in their release week (and was looking to be lower than that, if their BGT performance hadn't boosted it in the last few hours of that chart week). Now 'Salute' is heading for Top 5!

I agree, they definitely should have taken advantage of their time in the UK to promote the single. Seems it'll all just be tour-tour-tour-new album from here though :drama:
I suppose it's makes more financial sense to focus on tours than promoting singles. But one performance surely wouldn't have been too much a strain on them. It's not even like they would've had to travel far from the tour venue to the studios!
