I see from the thread that you are going on Saturday so I don't want to say anything.

I did like and enjoy it.

I read the reviews so I know what's happening. I think it's better that way to avoid disappointment.

First half 10/10

Second half 5/10

So glad I knew the setlist.

This is how I felt...

I was so let down with the second half, I guess you knew what was coming so it was a little better for you.

Yes. And even knowing it and listening to that music in preparation wasn't enough to make it interesting.

Yeah it was a little cringeworthy in places.

And seriously Bertie should now have been allowed on stage.

Have to agree about bertie but seeing sky of honey has got hooked on aerial for the first time.

Given many of the tracks she chose not to perform, I suspect I'd have been a little underwhelmed by the second half also.

I like two of the tracks of A Sky of Honey and enjoyed them. It's still probably the best gig I've ever been to.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Sky of honey segment because that was the first album that properly introduced me to Kate.

Wonderful show. She seemed to enjoy it so much too. I've been to many gigs in my time but this was truly an EVENT. Not gonna lie though I would have loved a massive

moment.

I also went on Saturday and I have to agree that the second half dragged it down a little. The opening songs really got you in the spirit, the first section was really engaging and backed by top quality songs but the last section was hard to follow and the songs were tedious at times. She brought it back with the finale, but I feel like the setlist could have been stronger. It kind of focused more on concept than what people wanted, but I was still more than happy with what I saw. I'm wondering if some of the omissions are down to her vocal capabilities. She still has such a strong voice, but I noticed a lot of what she performed was in her lower range and it was the higher range songs that were missing - just an observation.

(this post is way more negative looking than it should be. I was so impressed by what I saw and the atmosphere was incredible.)

well I hope she's going to switch up the second half and leave us all agog

roll on the 23rd

BOOP

oh, could everyone state how much their ticket costed and where the were seated, just out of curiosity.

We go the most expensive tickets - not through choice, but didn't complain for one second. We were quite far back. Maybe 5 or 6 rows from the front of the upper circle.

I was in row Q in the stalls, seat 21.

As to her performing the songs she did, I think she lacked self-confidence especially judging from her nerves at the beginning of the opening night. I don't think she had the confidence to tackle those high register songs.

I also think she chose the two suites because they would fit her staging ideas rather than just performing in front of a band a la the first section. This was , apart from the delight of seeing Kate in the flesh for the first time, visually very boring. The reason this has been probably the best show I have ever seen is because of the mix of visuals, music and other elements from the two suites.

Oh and there is an audience recording of the night I went (27-08-14) floating about the net now.

I had the cheapest ticket (which was between £55 and £60 I think) and that was standing right at the back of the circle area. Apart from being incredibly warm, having no seat and occasionally having an obstructed view when people stood up it was a decent place to be. Being at the back allowed you to see the whole of the stage and all that was going on. It would have been nice to be at the front, but I didn't mind being where I was.

Oh yeah, I definitely understand why the suites were chosen. Compared to the first section, with just the band, it was much more exciting visually. I just thought that musically it was a bit underwhelming and maybe they could have created a new suite out of stronger songs. It's clear a lot of work went into bring her vision to life though, so I appreciate that.
