Another 3 great tracks. What Is Love is a timeless classic, Quicksilver is amazing and I love that Bobby Brown track. Love it!
31.BELLISSIMA- DJ Quicksilver (437,000)

http://i57.tinypic.com/99dzcz.jpg

YEAR: 1997

PEAK POSITION: 4

Released in many countries as a double A-Side with the Martin Luther King sampling “I Have A Dream” it was decided (not too sure why) that the UK didn’t need that gem to sell this. Well they were right, this was one of two top 10 hits for the Turkish DJ who disappeared as quickly as he arrived.

brilliant classic free was also a top tune

This such a strange complain in a dance countdown but Bellissima is REALLY repetitive. :D Never really liked it and I also never got Two Can Play That Game.

What is Love? - obvious classic.

Snap! 'The Power' ~ <3

Baby D 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy' ~ STUNNING!

Culture Club 'Mr Vain' ~ love it :music: :cheer:

Haddaway 'What Is Love' ~ such a 90’s classic!

DJ Quicksilver 'Bellissima' ~ awesome track!

Bobby Brown 'Two Can Play That Game' ~ what a tune!

29. ENCORE UNE FOIS- Sash! (472,000)

http://i60.tinypic.com/vhu685.jpg

YEAR: 1997

PEAK POSITION: 2

Where it all started (in the UK at least) for Sash!. Featured singer Sabine Ohmes had her very own top 20 single in 1998 as Encore with “Le Disc Jocky”, this track however held off by No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak”.

28. WE LIKE TO PARTY (THE VENGABUS)- The Vengaboys (474,000)

http://israbox.com/uploads/posts/thumbs/1148419165_venga_boys__we_like_to_party.jpg

YEAR: 1999

PEAK POSITION: 3

Yes in early 1999 the Vengabus was indeed on its way, and by the end of the year the group would become the second biggest selling singles act of the year with 1.7 million sold. It could only settle for No 3 despite selling 119,000 copies in its first week stuck behind Britney Spears and Boyzone.

27. KING OF MY CASTLE- Wamdue Project (476,000)

http://www.djkevinjames.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/wamdue.gif

YEAR: 1999

PEAK POSITION: 1

A No 121 peak and 350 sales wasn’t an auspicious start to this songs chart career, but it was overhauled by Roy Malone in 1999 and hit it back all over Europe and followed suit here when re-issued in late 99. It sold over 470k in the last 7 weeks of the decade and depriving Sir Cliff of the No 1 spot....for 1 week at least.

"King Of My Castle" = amazing. :D

"We Like To Party" = fun and hypnotic beat.

"Encore Un Fois" = brilliant. :D

Encore Un Fois is a beast of a song.  We Like To Party is a bit of cheesy fun, but I never really took to King Of My Castle. I don't know why, but there's something about it I just don't like.

Sash! 'Encore Une Fois' ~ Epic!

Venagboys 'We Like To Party' ~ love this cheese!

Wamdue Project 'King Of My Castle' ~ sick tune!

74. TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART- Nicki French (286,000)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/ff/Total_Eclipse_of_the_Heart_Nicki_French.jpg

YEAR: 1995

PEAK POSITION: 5

Bonnie Tyler was apparently none too happy with this version though Steinman gave his blessing, yet for a while it looked as though French’s version of the 1983 classic didn’t look like it was gonna make it. Peaking at No 54 in 1994 it was remixed and re-issued in a slow January market and suddenly took off, so much in fact that it even went to No 2 in the US!

The UK radio mix of this was more of a mid-tempo ballad, should this really be here?

55. STAYIN ALIVE- N-Trance Featuring Ricardo Da Force (335,000)

http://www.avatune.com/pics/09080548.jpg

YEAR: 1995

PEAK POSITION: 2

And here is that Ricardo Da Force track, in truth N-Trance’s demise from the breath taking “Set You Free” to the seemingly endless bad remakes of other dance “classics” was a sad sight. At least this was the first of that trend, and as a follow up to their biggest hit it didn’t hurt their chart career becoming their second No 2 hit this time behind Michael Jackson.

FYI Ricardo Da Force died a year or two ago :(

Some tracks I would have expected to see in the top 100 based on my figures?

Doop - Doop

Artful Dodger feat. Craig David - Re-Rewind The Crowd Say Bo Selecta

Undercover - Baker Street

T-Spoon - Sex On The Beach

Los Del Rio - Macarena

Josh Wink/Winx - Higher State Of Consciousness

Technotronic feat. Ya Kid K - Get Up

White Town - Your Woman

Felix - Don't You Want Me

Deee-Lite - Groove Is In The Heart

Robin S - Show Me Love

If you'd have read the OP you'd have seen that I tried to veer away from anything too "poppy" (though that is subjective) and that I have not combined sales for remixes though I have for re-issues. This is where one person's definition of dance differs from anothers, Undercover, Los Del Rio, White Town, Doop, Deee-lite, T-Spoon were all too poppy for me- I don't recall hearing them in clubs at all at the time. Artful dodger I thought was more garage than dance. Felix, Josh Winx and Robin S didn't sell enough without combining all the remixes, and Technotronic are on this list.

Fair enough dance is difficult to define, but why Mr President but not T-Spoon? And The Smurfs aren't too poppy? Never mind, it's your list :)
Yeah I'd have included Artful Dodger (garage is a subgenre of dance, as is 4x4, 2step), T-Spoon (eurodance) and Doop (novelty dance) at the very least. Still I understand the lines are blurry.
