March 27, 201411 yr thank you so much cal for the time and effort you've put in, really appreciate it. congratulations to the darling ketalina on her win. not sure when the next one of these is going to be now. are ppl down with a cd swap next?
March 27, 201411 yr We should just rename this Unknown Electro Pop Song Contest. This. But it's been like this in the last 10 editions, hasn't it. Not sure why I keep fooling myself.. The fact that there are some who write 'voted' the day after the songs are revealed should hint that the early editions, where 'growers' had just a slight chance of doing good, are long gone.. Anyway, well done hosting, Cal. Edited March 27, 201411 yr by Thomsen

Anyway, well done hosting, Cal. To be fair, that's always happened. I hosted the first four contests and you always get 2-3 in the first 48 hours. Also, I voted at 9:11pm the day before the deadline (which was after the initial deadline here) and I was still one of the first half to vote, so that's not really a reason to be honest. At least 2/3 of people give plenty of time. Edited March 27, 201411 yr by RabbitFurCoat

Didn't a timetable for UP get suggested somewhere - I can't find it now. CD swap pretty soon seems a good idea.
March 27, 201411 yr We should just rename this Unknown Electro Pop Song Contest. i think at some stage you need to reconcile yourself to the fact amongst indie/alt fans that is very much the kind of music that is in. i don't want to patronise and disrespect but this is very much the sort of stuff that young people who like music away from the mainstream are into. trends and times will change but for the moment this is a reflection of what people are liking. admittedly i would like to sort of alter the rules. i find it a little bit offensive to an extent individuals participating in an indie competition who i don't believe have ever posted in this forum. are those individuals just here to participate in the competition. i don't want to be in a position saying who and who cannot enter in the competition (because at the end of the day who am i to say that?) but please don't come into this forum guys with the intention of just seeking glory. this forum is currently doing the worst out of all the main genre forums yet seems to have the most dedicated fanbase. i can't keep things afloat alone. if you guys could all try and put some of the energy you have into entering this comp into posting elsewhere i think that'd be really good for the forum.
March 27, 201411 yr Dandy* 15 - 21 - 5 - 1 - 18 - 11 - 5 - 18 - 12 - 1 - 3 - 15 - 1 - 5 - 9 - 23 This is really quite geeky (I'd like to say something that Bre might notice! :D) but it's remarkable that after 16 contests Dandy has managed to avoid all positions containing the numbers 0, 4, 6 and 7.

I do realise this but that won't stop railing against it (and coming across like a complete old fart - but what do I care) That's not to say I dislike ALL of it though.
March 28, 201411 yr 152Chris (or Chris 152 - never really sure) has sent ‘In My Dreams We’re Almost Touching’ by Ricky Eat Acid. Now we get into the hipster extremist votes… Are the tides about to turn? 12 Wild Swim 'Echo' Cal, 152Chris gave 'Echo' 12 points, not 10. So Wild Swim have a grand total of 54 points and are clear of a Bottom 5 placing!
March 28, 201411 yr Actually he gave Fitzroy North 8, Toys 10 and Wild Swim 12. You've got it all swapped around on the spreadsheet!
March 28, 201411 yr Author Soz, Chris edited his votes shortly after sending them (I was feeling KIND that day so I allowed it even though I lost out on 2 points, the swine :() so the PM I quoted wasn't actually the right one! The corrected version (and the one I entered into the spreadsheet) was: 20 Mssingno 'Xe2' 15 Emilie Nicolas 'Grown Up' 12 Fitzroy North 'Be Mine' 10 Wild Swim 'Echo' 08 Toys 'Hey Boy' 07 Talos 'Tethered Bones' 06 SLK 'Be' 05 Homework 'The Way I See It' 04 Eternal Death 'Head' 03 Ariana & The Rose 'In Your Bed' 02 Yumi and the Weather 'All We Can' 01 James Ruskin 'Slit'
March 28, 201411 yr i can't recall how azure blue goes at this moment either oops. Think of a less-poppy/M83 Postiljonen x 12th will do! And yeah, there's not much I think we can feasibly do about the electronic invasion. Even if we removed all the posters that don't generally participate in this forum (which as Jake said would be ridiculous), Mssingno still would've clearly won right?? I find most of the electronic stuff entered here more experimental than, say, Dry The River*, although I get that it's not to everyone's taste. *and I can't remember if there's a single other electronics-free track in this edition. Eeek.
March 28, 201411 yr well done Leww and thanks to all the popchartfreak voters, Riser & co, Crabby did better than I hoped, cheers! B-)YASS. Crabby got all stuck in my head and stuff. I don't mind you being easy to predict! Thoroughly pleased and surprised with my result, I picked a weird one but am glad some of you heard what I hear in Eves! Loved your hosting Cal, thanks ^_^
March 28, 201411 yr Boo to you two. :nocheer: if i'd known it would keep you out of the bottom 5 :( everything down to 06 points i ADORED so sryyyy
