If you're aged between 16 - 24, live in the UK and love music (and the charts, so basically everyone on this forum) you will probably be interested in this. Project from Sony Music record label and will probably get some good experience out of it. If anyone did the White Noise project (also by Sony) it's like a continuation but in much more depth than that. http://www.crowddna.com/blog/Music/

Kiesza up to 26, this is mental.

Sometimes I suspect the record labels kinda "plan" #1s with the help of releasing the main contenders on different weeks, to have a bit of publicity for as many act as possible.

Yep, they've been doing it for years - in fact it's probably less now than it was back in the CD single days of the late 1990s/early 2000s when almost every week was a new number one!

Its only a blinder in terms of the song will gauranteed to enter at no1 on Sunday week but in terms of sales its weeks upon weeks on pre orders will have meant thousands of lost sales!
It will be okay.

pre-orders:

25. Kiesza - Hideaway

34. Sigma - Nobody to Love

69. Mr. Probz - Waves (Robin Schulz Radio Edit)

102. Calvin Harris - Summer

124. Iggy Azalea - Fancy (feat. Charli XCX)

143. DJ Cassidy - Calling All Hearts (feat. Robin Thicke & Jessie J)

149. The Vamps - Last Night

174. Rita Ora - I Will Never Let You Down

248. Elyar Fox - A Billion Girls

255. Indiana - Solo Dancing

298. Secondcity - I Wanna Feel (Radio Edit)

377. Neon Jungle - Welcome to the Jungle

385. Twin Atlantic - Heart and Soul

501. Meridian Dan - German Whip (feat. Big H & JME)

547. Sam Smith - Stay With Me

548. Clean Bandit - Extraordinary (feat. Sharna Bass)

613. The Saturdays - Not Giving Up (Radio Mix)

648. Fuse ODG - Dangerous Love (feat. Sean Paul)

650. Joel Compass - Forgive Me

725. Cash Cash - Take Me Home (feat. Bebe Rexha)

838. Jakwob - Somebody New (feat. Tiffani Juno)

1051. John Newman - Out of My Head (Club Edit)

1328. Ellie Goulding - Beating Heart

1330. Dominique Young Unique - Throw It Down

brilliant for Indiana so far! maybe a top 10 contender now?

255. Indiana - Solo Dancing

Yeah 'Solo Dancing' should easily make the top 10! :cheer:

Would be very surprised if it beat Clean Bandit's first week. It may push for 150k possibly though?

The way it goes it could peak inside the top-20 on pre-orders this week and possibly top-15 next week. 150k for sure I think.
G'won Kiesza! 150k+ first week sales seem very likely for this now. Sigma should do about 120k+ too, good to see that comfortably top 40.
Given the length of time the pre-order has has been in the iTunes top 50, I think Kiesza's sales could easily touch 200k. :D

298. Secondcity - I Wanna Feel (Radio Edit)

I heard this song yesterday, and wow! It's so good. Really happy it's got lots of pre-orders.

Good to see Let Me Go climbing again! Since I Saw You Last isn't doing too badly either

32. Sigma - Nobody to Love

This is #2 on the Shazam chart now behind Kiesza

On The Album Chart:

133. Shift K3Y - Touch - EP

And this is #10 on the Shazam chart

I think Kiesza will do about 180-200k. 150k seems modest for its pre-order success. But I do agree it's been handled poorly, it'll be lucky to have much in the form of longevity with this sort of release.

Sigma - Nobody To Love

So this is a sure fire number one next week, right? with about... 130-140K?

Just remember Clean Bandit got as high as #6 on pre-orders and 'only' sold 162k first week :P I suppose Kiesza could get similarly high as she still has a bit of time left before her release.

Yeah that sounds right, that gives me an idea for a poll :magic:
