I can't see this album doing well. The lead single is very poor. Not a great start and the Saturdays have generally be on a big decline with their album sales so will need a strong single to push this!

I think it will do fairly well, but don't see it having much longevity at all.

I can see the album ironically outshining the single for the first time Saturdays history. The album has held up really well on iTunes, not just for a Saturdays album but for any album.

Huge amounts of people will have gotten the tour addition. When the tickets first went on sale it was really difficult to cancel the album, loads of people will have gotten it by mistake too.

The super deluxe version won't sell amazingly but lots of fans who already have the album will buy it. - it'll still probably sell 800/1k

And I think people are underestimating how appealing a 'Greatest Hits' album will be to the general public as a lazy casual buy, most people know a few of their hits. The artwork stands out and there will be a big banner on iTunes, a (hopefully at least better than the Not Giving Up) promo campaign and hopefully even TV adverts. I really can't see it selling less than 19/20k.

I know it was a different time of year but even JLS' greatest hits managed to sell 24k last year and go silver and they had added into obscurity more than The Saturdays have now.

That's pushing it a little bit.

Personally I think they'd be really stupid if they didn't do any signings for this album. Easy sales, relatively cost free and creates a bit of buzz for the girls in the local areas.

Clearly spoke too soon.

agree. and could easily spilt into a 2-some and 3-some to manage 2 signings at the same time

I don't know if that works because people want their albums signed by each and every member not just Una and Vanessa.

Tag 'What Are You Waiting For?' on Shazam and you could win an all inclusive First Choice Holidays getaway! Find out more: http://po.st/SatsShazamComp - I was hoping they were going to something like this. Charli got her Shazam count up by loads by offering a free remix

(still at #39 on TV airplay btw)

HA!

It's frustrating as fans, but I just think this album was to generate extra cash.

Let's face it, it hasn't cost them much, and if they shift 1,000 of the deluxe box sets at £30 that's 30k.

I think they are aware that radio are slowly losing interest and they are more of a 'fan band' now like McFly etc although on a lesser scale.

Let's face it it costs so much to have decent promotion and advertising now, the video and production of wAYWF was most likely paid by FirstChoice so they are finding ways to keep cost low and I hate to say this but effectively rinse the fans.

Let's face it most dad buy a physical and iTunes version, plus probably the E.P and single edit. That's nearly £50 per fan.

Anything else is a bonus, obviously they want to have high chart peaks but being The Sats it's WAY to risky to spend large amounts on promo for the album to sell very little.

The are still around because the management is actually clever at using The Sats name to promote brand like Casio Sheen and First Choice, as well as doing live shows.

We've all been saying how ridiculous management are but maybe they are actually intelligent enough to realise the big money is made through other channels.

Let's face it, the Fans are the people who are likely to spend the most going to Tours, buying fan exclusives so they are capitalising on this...

Any additional sales and chart positions are just a bonus.

At the end of the day What About Us sold 400k and they did HUGE promo, but the album still only shifted 19k in an entire year.

But off topic but I hope It picks up on ITunes :/

I totally get what you are saying Mr C Joel and totally agree, The Sats have always been about keeping costs low and topping up income with endorsements

However if they stop having top 10 singles, radio airplay, tv airplay etc then they arent gonna get these wndorsements anymore. Does Rochelle think she'll be asked to present shows if she's known as a member of a flop band? Mollie and Una will have to cut their fees for their tv/mag appearances. At the end of the day their appearance fees will go from what Little Mix can charge to what Atomic Kitten can charge

I wish I was a Little Mix stan. You get something back. Sadly, I just don't think their music compares to The Saturdays.

That's not why I don't like Little Mix. I don't like them because I don't think they are as close as The Saturdays are and lack personality

Maybe the album has sold really well on pre-orders with all the, tour edition with the ticket sales, and all the other versions that can be purchased and that is why they are not too bothered?

it's still bad management to not be out there with a presence at the minute. the single needs to do well. Pre-orders may be good but there'll be no extra sales without promo
