Living For The Weekend lasted about two weeks on my iTunes before I got rid of it. I only kept What About Us, Disco Love, Not Giving Up and Lease My Love. The Jam tracks were seriously awful, I agree they were my least favourite Saturdays songs EVER.

As long as the lead single isn't by The Jam then I'm not gonna worry too much...

So glad someone agrees with me  And just to demonstrate this in my countdown of Sats most played songs...

Leave a Light on - 15 plays at #43

Don't Let Me Dance Alone - 5 plays at 54

Anywhere With You - 3 plays at #62

Remember all 5 girls have to agree on the songs, I suspect Rochelle and Una are aware of how bad the tracks were for the album and I get the feeling Vanessa isn't keen on them either.

Plus if Mollie and Jordan break up I can guarantee she wont want a song written by him

Una has been writing herself and I think is the only one of the girls to have co-written a song without any of the others for an album, I think? If so, I think she'll have a lot of input. Vanessa will sing whatever because she has the voice, y'know

I don't think they'll break up anytime soon but agreed, if they did I don't think we'd see many songs from The Jam on any future productions :yahoo: B-)

I don't think the girls have to collectively agree on a song. If their management think the song is good enough then it'll be up to them what goes on the album. They aren't going to stop The Jam being on the album just because Rochelle or Una doesn't like a track. They'd probably just accept The Jam tracks because of Mollie's connection and it'd be cheaper for them.
I just wish Mollie stole some songs off of Andy before the broke up  he is a fantastic song writer

NO, JUST NO. Had Lawson formed by then? I doubt he'd have written for the girls anyway!

Lawson had formed and were doing covers before Missing You was released. I don't see what is so bad about Andy writing songs, Standing In The Dark, When She Was Mine and infact the entire Chapman Square album is phenomenal

Wasn't too sure! Not to deviate from the girls too much but yes Lawson are good I for one am not a fan of Andy and I don't like Standing in The Dark ;)

Besides, they need to collaborate with more former Busted members as Forever is Over turned out to be beautiful :teresa:

Actually, Una, Rochelle and Vanessa seemed far more enthusiastic of the The Jam songs than Mollie during the Google Hangout.

Curse you Hurricane for remembering stuff like that (love you really  )

Maybe they were trying to get Mollie to blush haha

Also, Mollie is actually a talented songwriter. She and Una (and whoever was producing the song, probably got the credit just for that actually) pretty much came with 'Get Ready Get Set', 'Wish I Didn't Know', 'Move On U' and it seems like she's been writing a lot recently without Una too.

I need them to work together a lot more, though. Nice things happen when they do. It seems like the label hasn't really given the girls any writing studio time together. From what we know from ""insiders"" and what Mollie and Una posted on social medias, both have been working on their own.

Also we can assume the other three hasn't written at all and surely they just aren't as good at it.

Ha, love you too boo.

But really. I do think The Jam songs are poor, but the hate they got is quite surprising and a bit over-the-top, if I might say so. It's not really the songs themselves that are bad in my opinion. It's the whole aspect of the production that is incredibly cheap. Both instrumental and vocal production. They are just really poor producers. But I thought they were good songwriters? I mean, 'Leave A Light On', 'Anywhere With You' and 'Don't Let Me Dance Alone' aren't 'uncatchy'. The hooks are quite good. It's just the rest that is really poor.

Like...You know there is a great song somewhere in these. A more talented producer would have made something better out of these songs, for example.

I don't blame the label for not giving them writing time though, looking at the songs they've wrote the ones from LFTW were AWFUL compared with the OYR ones you listed which are far better. Another problem is if they can't all be together to shoot album/single covers and artwork, can they really all be together at the same time to write songs? Afterall three of the girls are Mum's which isn't easy to coordinate around.
I think they tried really hard with OYR which is why songs such as GRGS and WIDK are incredible!
Such a shame it ended up at #23 when Living For The Weekend deserved that and not top ten -_- Really hope they can get this top ten!
Opening sales predictions for this? I think it could manage between 20 - 35k with good promotion and a hit lead single from the week before. Which would be an easy top 5, and maybe even number 1 on a quiet week.

I think #7 with 18k.

But that's like purely a guess, how could we judge these things so early.

Tis too early I agree. I think with tour bundles, they should have a decent opening week though!

18k would easily get you in the top 3 for albums, most weeks though - Kaiser Chiefs managed number 1 with 16k a couple of weeks back.

This sounds very stupid so apologies; obviously this is a compilation album, will it count as a number one album if it went to that?

I think #1 or #2 with around 20k, depending on what else is released that week. Too early yet though.

I was gonna say :D 18k for a #7!?

I think Top 5 with 13k if sales do not improve.
