If she really is intent on sticking with this 'ARTPOP' thing, this is never going to 'pull it out the bag', well commercially at least.

Yeah the whole 'ARTPOP' brand is just labelled 'ARTFLOP' so people will be disinterested and quick to judge. :( Relying on her to absolutely smash it though!

as long as the music is as heavenly as ever, I don't care too much about Gaga being successful. Her high-quality music is self-explanatory and she doesn't need a number one single or mainstream success to validate her as a superstar.

 

I'm so excited for what's next, may it be Artpop 2 or something completely different, 95% of her music never fails me

She needs this album to NOT be called Artpop though because of what Jade said.

Act 2 won't happen though. She's putting all her effort into 'Cheek to Cheek' rn, there's still a Cheek to Cheek Tour to come and Tony's announced that they're planning a follow-up also. We'd be lucky to have another pop album by late next year, whether that is a good or bad thing, we will have to wait and see!

I only liked a handful of tracks:

 

Applause, G.U.Y, Gypsy, DYW and ARTPOP. The rest of the album is unlistenable for me.

'Sexxx Dreams' was the album's highlight.

 

But yeah, that DWUW and 'Gypsy' are the only 3 I regularly go back to these days.

Gaga has announced in an interview that she has officially begun writing for this album, I am so ready! :cheer:

Good to hear! Though she tends to be ok on the writing front, it's the excessive over-production she needs to watch out for if 'ARTPOP' taught us anything.

Gaga: "Everybody is hungry for something that's more authentic"

 

Ryan Seacrest asked Gaga about Sam Smith in her interview yesterday morning and she had this to say:

 

“He’s just tremendous and, you know, in tuned with what we are doing with Cheek to Cheek. Sam is a true musical artist, a true musician, there’s an organic-ness in his voice and the records that he’s made, and I really feel that this is the turn that music is going to take now,” she said. “After lots of this electronic sound that’s been trendy for awhile, I think everybody is hungry for something that’s more authentic, and more honest, and more human, and that’s why his voice is really connecting with the world. I’m so very happy for him. He really, really deserves all the accolades that he’s getting and I pray that he continues to be himself.”

She also said Cheek to Cheek is her

most important album to date.

“I feel so humbled to be doing this project with him. This is, for me, the most important album I’ve ever made.”

Very promising. She's now aware of the direction the music world is headed in and I can't wait for her next album. After trying to follow trends and make a commercial album with ARTPOP, the next one should be really amazing and authentic. :cheer:
