Rochelle is singing Frankie's Bridge and the high harmonies are Vanessa :P
According to the UK chart forum, Not Giving Up has sold 30k as of Sunday - their last week in the top 200. Their lowest selling single, by some margin. Let's un-stick this topic, it's painful seeing it up there.

Their amount of flops are increasing so much...Oh my god. They really do need to start selling singles again.

Seems like their fan base is dwindling and the brand alone is no longer strong enough for them to get hits with ease. They basically have to start over and re-establish a fan base which is sad as they're so far into their career.

Pretty much. It is sad. It is also very do-able/possible. Sadly, for obvious and understandable reasons, I just don't see the label/management (nor the girls, for that matter) putting the effort (and the budget) to re-establish the girls. (Don't forget that these girls did a hell of a lot pre-Chasing Lights and during that era to establish themselves.)

I'm literally not excited at all for this Greatest Hits. Like I couldn't care less about it and I'm an actual "stan" (not even a casual fan!). Hopefully, that's just me and the GH turns out to be a success, but at this point, I just doubt it.

I agree :(

The Saturdays' are fastly losing their fanbase and I guess it's all rather understandable. Full of missed opportunities. No doubt in 4 months they will be smashing.

The fanbase is dwindling because a string of new girlbands over the last few years such as Neon Jungle and Little Mix, little beyond the control of the label/the girls that this happened. But as it's been mentioned, this era could renew interest them and with a bit of luck we'll get at least one new album after GH (Fingers crossed!)

Thank God for What About Us, seriously.

Four of their last six singles have been massive flops (My Heart Takes Over, 30 Days, Gentleman, Not Giving Up). All Fired Up and Notorious weren't exactly huge either so since Higher at the end of 2010 they've only really had What About Us as a big hit.

I can't see the Greatest Hits being a success. Kelly Clarkson missed the top 10 and sold very moderately with hers and she'd been around eight years with several massive singles and had an X-Factor performance. McFly barely sold anything of theirs, N-Dubz had a flop one even with Tulisa on X-Factor, Example flopped with his (he had two big #1's on it) and the second Girls Aloud one wasn't exactly massive even with Strictly, a big comeback, Children In Need, Graham Norton and Q4 release so why will The Saturdays suddenly have a hit with theirs when they've sold less than 1 million records combining their last six singles and last two albums??

Sad but worryingly true (But I do think All Fired Up was a decent-sized enough hit for them).

Though in their defense, Kelly didn't promote in the UK at all and still sold 150k+ without a lead single that was getting much (any?) airplay. N-Dubz don't have more than 2 singles that most people beyond their intimidate fan base can name. Mcfly's greatest Hits went Gold, which would be great for The Saturdays at this point and Girls Aloud released a re-hash of an album that had already gone 4x Platinum (and they still managed to sell around 150k, too). Even JLS' album sold an easy silver which is more than double what Living For The Weekend has sold.

The album is never going to go platinum but could easily go Silver/Gold with good promotion and a bit of airplay. I think the fact their previous albums sold so little works in their favour in this case, as a Greatest Hits album from The Saturdays is a good lazy buy for the kind of casual fans who won't (and haven't) bought their albums before. The Saturdays are constantly being named a 'singles artist', and this is an album of all their singles, -they have 8+ memorable hits on it (a lot of pop groups who release greatest hits only have 2/3/4), which will be an easy sell if they have some TV adverts for it.

But I'm trying to be positive, and you never know how things could be messed up over the next few months, I'm still very concerned the radios won't touch them anymore, regardless of how good their next single may be.

All Fired Up is like one of their most known songs

But I agree. I think it's more because they've gotten older as as an act than anything else really

With the exception of Gentleman and Work (the 5th single off a 350k+ selling album), I can't think of any Sats releases that have sold badly during the Summer months. I would say Missing You and Headlines were both success stories. A lof of the Greatest Hits compilations mentioned in the previous posts were released at Christmas which is an extremely competitive time. The Greatest Hits will already be out by then.
The Saturdays have more "certified" hit singles that Girls Aloud. I'm sure I read that somewhere totally reliable like Wikipedia.

Girls Aloud have the following singles certified:

- Sound of the Underground (Platinum)

- Jump (Silver)

- Love Machine (Silver)

- I'll Stand By You (Silver)

- Something Kinda Ooooh (Silver)

- Call The Shots (Silver)

- Can't Speak French (Silver)

- The Promise (Gold)

So a total of 8. The Sats have:

- Up (Silver)

- Issues (Silver)

- Just Can't Get Enough (Silver)

- Ego (Silver)

- Missing You (Silver)

- Higher (Silver)

- All Fired Up (Silver)

- What About Us (Silver)

So they also have 8. Girls Aloud getting more impressive certifications than The Sats despite a lower sales climate when they were around... :kink:

What About Us will reach Gold at somepoint and Notorious is 20k or so of Silver last time I checked.

What's even worse is Girls Aloud released a Million+ selling Greatest Hits in 2006 and McFLY released a 300k+ selling Greatest Hits in 2007 and they still both managed to get a 100k+ selling SECOND greatest hits album, if The Saturdays can't go Gold with there first Greatest Hits it really is a disaster.

What About Us will reach Gold at somepoint and Notorious is 20k or so of Silver last time I checked.

That was 2 years ago. I was say Notorious was only MAX 10k away from silver, but could be a lot closer for all we know. Forever Is Over is probably about 10k off silver too.

By the end of the year What About Us will be Gold and Notorious and Forever is Over will probably be silver. and the new single, if it is playlist and is a hit, will probably go at least silver too.
