I'm sure they'll do better than that once Radio one playlist them (they love iggy azalea). I wouldn't have ruled them out as a threat if they had released it the same week

It really should be at least top 1,500 on iTunes. It's been played almost every hour on the box. It's important to get this top 1,500 come Wednesday or I can see Radio 1 snubbing it.

Tweet and request as much as you possibly can!

Disco Love was in the 1,500 by now, but it had been playlisted on Capital already. I just want Wednesday over with so we can know if R1 are snubbing them or not!

Radio 1 aren't going to playlist it based on whether or not it's in the top 1,500 on iTunes. They would have to be at least top 500 on iTunes or something for Radio 1 to support them (if they base their playlisting on pre-order positions).

If it was then they would never playlist Example or Foxes (as much as I love her) and they would have playlisted Nicole Scherzinger's Your Love

They usually playlist them on how well liked they are by the DJs (which is why it was beneficial for Rochelle to be good friends with Nick Grimshaw), youtube views (apparently), hype (guessing) and whether the people at the wednesday meeting think the song is worth supporting (will it do well in the chart)

May be other things aswell though?? Honestly, I thought the dramatic change in Radio 1 DJs leaving and new ones coming would be such a problem to the sats as they would have to make new good impressions on the DJs alike which has made issues for stars like Pixie Lott to be playlisted (I don't think she has any tight connections in Radio 1 except for Chris Moyles who is long gone now).

I just found an article that says, it's to do with youtube views, combined followers on Facebook /twitter, streams in soundcloud etc.. and it's nothing to do with the age of the artist, it's to do with the age of the artists fanbase.

So basically nothing to do with the actual song.

Well yeah it is cause they obviously have to decide whether it's gonna be a hit or not and whether it's worth while Playlisting it (So it does kinda make sense that this didn't support NGU) By the sounds of it, The Saturdays tick every box, I mean what age is their fanbase? 12-29 maybe older so they are right in the middle of Radio ones core fanbase.

I really wouldn't worry about this being playlisted on R1 for the time being.

Well we'll find out in 2 days!

641 The Saturdays Disco Love

758 The Saturdays What About Us (feat. Sean Paul)

1352 The Saturdays & Flo Rida Higher (feat. Flo Rida)

1385 The Saturdays Not Giving Up (Radio Mix)

I guess their fanbase has grown up a little more and people under 15 will probably be liking Little Mix than the saturdays so I'd say their fanbase would be 15-30 which is still good for Radio 1

1434 The Saturdays What Are You Waiting For?

(In pop)

IF IT DROPS OUT AGAIN THEN I'MMA GIVE PHARRELL A b-o-job AND HE CAN FEATURE ON IT TO GET AIRPLAY!!

edit - down to #1449.

Exactly - but then when they are reminded of their hits they always say 'to be fair The Saturdays have quite a few tunes'

1498 The Saturdays What Are You Waiting For?

FFS girls you can do better than this.

I hope they add Finest Selection to the album pre orders section tonight!

I'm impressed by how well the album is holding up.

I wouldn't mind 'Finest Selection' going to #01 in the album chart and 'What Are You Waiting For' scraping top 10. I'm sure it would result into the latter have more airplay and 'Finest Selection' being more advertised in HMV etc.

I'm really pleased with the album too - Wasn't LFTW out of the top 1,500 by now?!

In regards to the single, the should in future (if there's one) wait until much later before putting up the EP, like other artists. I think it really hinders single orders, and people don't realise that the actual single isn't even on the EP.
