LISTEN

Charli XCX has put out a new single for the forthcoming Fault In Our Stars soundtrack, which will also feature music from Lykke Li. It's called "Boom Clap", and you can listen to it above.

Lykke Li's contribution, meanwhile, will be called "No One Ever Loved". More details on the release forthcoming.

As previously reported, Charli XCX is also working with Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo on an as-yet-untitled record to be released later this year.

It's OK on first listen; I think it'll grow on me like Superlove has.
Not what I wanted from Charli, but I like it nonetheless! I think it'll grow. :D

Really like this on first listen, it's catchy and I like the in-your-face style.

#21 on US iTunes currently, what with her featured success on "Fancy" I wonder if this can have any kind of sustained success following the release of the movie.

I don't usually like shouty, cheerleader-y choruses but I heard this on the movie trailer and liked the sound of it.

Good on her for capitalising on her 'Fancy' success. She's quite intriguing and it's probably been said a load of times already but she looks and seems (personality wise) so similar to Marina.

Love this song. I hope Radio 1 support it and it's some sort of hit for her. Can't wait to see her at Glasto.

zzzzz

another boring inanimate tune.

it's ironic this is the shit she's putting out when she has the best potential to be huge (which is what her label wish for i'm guessing) surely, just listen to the songs yourself and it's apparent very quickly how non-hit the standard is?

dire.

(tho having seen it top 10 on us itunes, it is success i support oop)
Really liking this, it is released on July 20th in the UK by the way!

It'd be hilarious if she outpeaked Cheryl!

I think just hitting the top 40 will be a decent result given what happened with Superlove.

Anyway, the track is pretty good, plus she definitely deserves some solo success.

Out the same week as Neon Jungle and Cheryl, but let's be real, top 20 would be fantastic.

I didn't think Radio 1 would ever playlist her again given what happened with Superlove, but after the mega success of Fancy, hopefully they will give her another chance. I love this song and think it could be a good hit. PLEASE R1!

To be fair, they did only B-List 'SuperLove' and many songs that Radio 1 A-List perform worse.

Quite right. I highly doubt the 1975's song is going to do anything chart-wise for example.

I don't think Radio 1 had any expectations for 'SuperLove' to smash. I think they just liked the song.
Who else finds her voice utterly annoying?
