April 14, 201411 yr It's not as catchy as a lot of her other previous material from BTD or Paradise, but it's a nice new direction to take. It's already growing on me and feels a lot more natural than some of her previous tracks (although I loved them).
April 14, 201411 yr The tempo shifts caught me by surprise on the first listen but I like it. Now I just need to play it to death just like everything else...
April 14, 201411 yr Love this, surprising after not being particularly keen on anything from the debut... Edited April 14, 201411 yr by ▲▲▲
April 15, 201411 yr Really good! It's a positive thing she seems to be changing her style because another album like 'Born to Die' and 'Paradise' would have been too much of a good thing for me, as much as I enjoy those two. Two? They were one album in the UK - but I do love this new song. A somewhat different sound, but the same sensual voice! :)
April 15, 201411 yr Nice and languid. It's a good sign. I'm not sure I like the change in tempo for the chorus, but I reckon I'll get used to that.
April 15, 201411 yr No, there were two - Born To Die and Paradise. Not according to the Official Charts Company - sales of the original BTD and the extended Paradise Edition are combined for chart purposes.
April 15, 201411 yr It was another case of The Fame/The Fame Monster, I count them as the same era/album except Paradise is just a continuation.

The chart rules can be found here : http://c0903002.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecl...-april-2013.pdf Section 4.0 is the pertinant one in the context of this thread.
April 15, 201411 yr Who cares what a chart rule says? It's down to opinion. I see it as the same era but a different album as Paradise is almost the length of a usual album. Edited April 15, 201411 yr by G R ‽ F F
April 15, 201411 yr Last time I checked, Lana was an american and Paradise was released separately in the US, therefore I consider Ultraviolence her 3rd album.
April 15, 201411 yr Last time I checked, Lana was an american and Paradise was released separately in the US, therefore I consider Ultraviolence her 3rd album. The separate release of 'Paradise' in the US was considered to be an EP rather than a full length studio album. Technically 'Born To Die' is her second studio album (her first major label album) and 'Ultraviolence' is its follow up. ------ Steve, it looks like 'West Coast' won't come out here until 18th May after all. Not sure where the OA/OS rumour stemmed from but it doesn't seem like that's going to come true?
April 15, 201411 yr Who cares what a chart rule says? It's down to opinion. IMO Kylie should have the #1 every week - but that doesn't make it true...
April 15, 201411 yr IMO Kylie should have the #1 every week - but that doesn't make it true... That comparison has nothing to do with what I said.
April 15, 201411 yr Nobody official ever called Paradise an album. Ultraviolence is the follow-up to Born To Die.
April 15, 201411 yr I know, in my mind there were two from the same era though because let's be honest, THERE WAS.
