So, as you all know, LDR premiered a new song today with a UK release date of May 18th, but Lana's top twitter fan account posted this earlier today...

Due to overwhelming demand and popular reception, 'West Coast' will be rush released and will be on UK iTunes tomorrow!

So I guess base these predictions off of if it's out tonight.

I think "Summertime Sadness" will have really boosted Lana's fanbase. If released tonight, I could see it hitting iTunes T10 and climbing there officially next week.
SOOOOOOOO GOOD! top 3 in the states already... top 5 at least, I guess it's May 18th.

What - no poll?

Because of the mid-week release, it won't have a 1st week peak, but I can see it going T10 at worst, maybe even top 5.

Naturally I'd prefer it to go to #1 - much better than the current sequence of dance singles & boybands!

I reckon this could be quite a big hit for her at least peak-wise if it's initial performance on pre-orders suggests anything. Probably not number 1 as I think it's out the same week as that Fuse ODG/Sean Paul song, but top 5 perhaps?
Does she have a big UK fanbase?

Now #2 on US iTunes and catching up with 'Happy'. Craziness!

I think this will do well initially, another top 10 for her. She has a huge online fanbase (particularly on Tumblr and the like) but I'm not sure about the UK specifically. I would love for it to go top 5!

Bump - the full video is now available :

Since there was no 'where do you want it to chart' option, I had to vote for it for #1 in the poll question we do have.

Well that's odd logic.

I'm thinking around #5-10 for this I think, won't be #1 and I'd rather it didn't outpeak Video Games and Born To Die as it's INCREDIBLY dull but we'll see.

Single will go top 10, but only because it's a lead single. I doubt it'll even go silver beyond that. The album will sell by the bucket-load though.

I agree - guaranteed #1 unless released the same week as Coldplay.

It's not a very good song so unsure how it will fare. Might go top10 as its her first new material on the back of the highly successful summertime sadness remix.

I dunno - maybe we should ask the 900k+ who bought her last album. ;)

I dunno - maybe we should ask the 900k+ who bought her last album. ;)

The fact that 900k people bought her debut, heavily-hyped album over a two year+ period doesn't say a lot about her core fanbase, i.e. those who'd be likely to buy a more experimental single like 'West Coast' on its first week :P. However I do think her fanbase would be big enough to get it into the top ten.
