I didn't see that one coming either, and there is jack shit out next week, Calvin Harris could get a second week on low sales, unless some other artist reclaims the #1 spot. The weekly #1s is becoming a borefest.

I think 'Waves' will re-claim #1 next week.

I do quite like the weekly turnover (it's better than US Hot 100 when the top 5 stay static for a month) although it would be better if the #1s weren't so predictable.

Let It Go in the top 10 :drama:

Please leave already, so over this Frozen hype

What's the point of releasing an instant grat one day before the album? It's not a great incentive.

It's kind of clever actually as it means the song will probably be allowed to chart with all 'sales' included (the OCC seem to allow one day of sales which should be ineligible, they made a point of only counting the sales for Eminem's tracks starting from when the album came out for some reason, possibly because it came out on a Tuesday IIRC, but always seem to count Sunday 'sales' for all other artists).

Your signature sort of speaks differently. :P

I was beginning to doubt whether Calvin would get to #1 or not given that Mr Probz' lead held up way better than Kiesza's, but it looks like he will still do it unless 'Summer' is EXTREMELY frontloaded (which is possible). Hope he does get there anyway, really loving 'Summer' now and it'll be his first time ever getting back to back #1s. Wouldn't mind Mr Probz staying #1 though as I do love 'Waves' as well - he'll almost certainly be back at #1 next week regardless anyway.

Its only an instant grat on iTunes. its released as a single on other download platforms

I get that the song isn't *only* an instant grat, I just don't think a lot of people would be rushing to pre-order an album just so they could get the single one day early, so why make it a grat at all? Bre's suggestion that it's effectively a chart dodge makes sense though.

But they're not, its available to buy from the album and as that's the only option on iTunes then that's what they have done

It is getting the sales from pre-orders of the album up to now though, right? So they could just have left it for people to cherrypick from tomorrow.
It's amazing just how well it's holding up and STILL climbing after all these months. It's bizarre.

Not for a popular song that radio completely ignores, though.

Let It Go has to go top 10 this week!! Please! It can't be left at #11. COME ON IDINA!!!

Still not a sign of Katy B?

It only finished 23rd so it don't matter :P

Its position today includes the pre-orders, yes but those won;t (or shouldn't) be included in its sales figures for this week

They shouldn't in theory, but in practice they do (the OCC counted the Sunday should-be-ineligible for the likes of Lady Gaga and One Direction, I'm pretty sure they've only excluded those sales for Eminem).

Also 'Midnight' was allowed to chart this week as it shows up at #89 - I guess they can separate single sales then. (To be fair this is a slightly different situation as the remix is a separate single release, so they're not differentiating between album pre-orders and cherrypicks from the allbum).
