Embrace another summery #1

Calvin Harris is looking to add to the string of 10 consecutive one week number ones and to his overall collection of eight #1s this week as 'Summer' is released this week. This appears to be the only big release, so the Top 4 is shaping up to be made up of the number one from the past three weeks. Also, it could be the week Chris Brown enters the Top 10 with 'Loyal' or perhaps it's time for 'Let It Go' to finally climb there. Lower down the Top 40 may see new entries for Paloma Faith's 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This', Coldplay's 'Midnight' - still an instant grat but charting on remix downloads), Alicia Keys' theme song for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 'It's On Again' and, later in the week, an entry from Kasabian's midweek release 'Eez-Eh'.

The lead from brit-pop band Blur and alternative/dance virtual band Gorillaz, Damon Albarn, is the main contender for #1 from the new album releases with his first solo studio album Everyday Robots. Joining him in the Top 10 could be alternative rock bands Embrace and Pixies and rockabilly singer Imelda May. However Paolo Nutini is still selling strong so he may be heading for his third week at #1, or maybe John Legend could beat all new releases to get a new peak of #2.

It's funny seeing each of the number ones of the past few weeks being bumped down one place at a time so their expected chart runs are

The chart geek in me loves seeing patterns like this

Calvin should get to number one but Mr Probz won't be far behind him, could only be about 5-10k in it!

And please can we get Royksopp and Robyn top 40 please that would make my year

yay for Paloma!! :cheer:

Ouch for the Eels out of the top 40. Top 5 albums are selling reasonably well since they are mostly new and considering its only Tues, big sales gap between #5 and #6 on sales of 3.1k.

And before anyone asks Iggy Azalea #11, with Pharrell ahead of her with 130 copies. :P

Is Gary Barlow within the top 40??

The top 4 albums are excellent this week, all number 1 worthy.

Good to see Paolo should sell another 20-25k or even more by Sunday but the NE will probably struggle to 15k apart from Damon Albarn!
Damon Albarn is on Later... tonight which should provide a boost in his sales.

Thats right as are The Black Keys & Coldplay

Edited by steve201

Calvin Harris has the number 1 in the bag, and i am happy with that result.

Only Love Can Hurt Like This is a new entry (to the top 40) btw :kink:

Where is Meet The Vamps in the album chart today?
