what makes you saying that?

Maybe because Sanna is performing in the first half?

I'm so glad about the results! Montenegro and Sweden had the best songs in Semi Final 1 for me (Quality 100%). I liked many of them but i didn't expect Pollapönk with "No Prejudice" to go in the final..I wanted Belgium or Estonia. The former had the most emotional performance and the latter had the best staging for me. I was so impressed by her dance too. I'm very happy for Valentina Monetta!!! I think that she deserves to be in the final!! I like Moldova's song but her performance was quite average. I didn't like her "Game Of Thrones" dress. Very bad choice for this song. She should have a dark staging too. Russian song has grown on me and Ukraine had the most beautiful/sexy singer in the Semi Final 1. Suzy was quite close to her..I love the deep meaning of Hungarian song. The Netherlands was a pleasant surprise for me. I found the "Cake To Bake" as the worst song in Semi Final 1.

"Rise Up" on Thursday!!!

Calm After The Storm is REALLY smashing it on iTunes across Europe. It can't have actually WON could it?!

Happy to continue more relevant than you've ever been on here

I dunno. It seems to have it's core fanbase but those that aren't fussed on it, really aren't fussed on it/won't even vote for it "for the lolz" (if that makes sense). I can see top 5 for sure now, but don't forget Blue were doing well on iTunes all over Europe too, but we "only" came 11th that year (although that was after the final (but I'm sure we were smashing in Europe before the final!) as we don't have Semi's to clamber through so maybe not a fair comparison). During the performance, I was thinking "I think I'd actually like the studio version of this". The performance as nice as it was, was a little bit too bland, imo.

Blue definitely weren't doing that well in Europe before the final. In any case, we did come top five on the televote - it was the juries that held us back by putting us 22nd. I can't see Calm After The Storm doing badly on the juries, and it clearly has public support.

I'm not sure why someone would vote for it 'for the lolz' either - there's definitely going to be other stuff on the night that's way more suited to a novelty vote, especially as it's not a novelty track at all...it'll probably get an 'anti-Eurovision' vote in a "this is too good for Eurovision" way (ugh, I loathe that phrase) though.

Yeah that's true. I dunno, I just can't see it winning (although I said this about Denmark last year, and look what happened! Haha - I clearly know NOTHING  ).

My ranking :

01. Sweden

02. San Marino

03. Portugal

04. Latvia

05. Iceland

06. Belgium

07. Netherlands

08. Russia

09. Albania

10. Montenegro

11. Estonia

12. Moldova

13. Hungary

14. Armenia

15. Azerbaijan

16. Ukraine

But that's exactly what you need to send. Aside from obvious smashes like 'Fairytale' and 'Euphoria', it's much better to send something that one half really loves and the other half really loathes than something that everyone finds merely ''OK''. Best example is probably ''Suus''. (most) People are only gonna vote for what they like best.

I was gutted for Portugal. Really felt they deserved to qualify. High standard all round however.

I'm more inclined to say that it's because it stood out so much in that semi, being by FAR the best song in the second half.

I'm sure once all of the other songs are in the mix it won't stand out QUITE so much. But it is doing incredibly well, there's no denying that.

Another big Dutch smash to get behind (chartwise I mean!)

HOW did San Marino qualify, HOW? Otherwise this was very easy to predict.

Belgium was creepy as hell, glad it didn't go through.

Was expecting more from performances by Ukraine and Hungary, although glad the latter qualified.

I really do think the combination of weaker heat, better starting position and being in English is what did it. The song is no Vola, albeit still pretty great.

I was thrilled San Marino went through, catchy little song but she could do with performing better vocally in the final. I also would have loved Estonia to have qualified. Armenia is doing nothing for me, i dont really understand why it has such big odds, that said it will do well. Hungary performed well and the song stood out, i was not a huge fan prior the semi final but once seeing it performed i understand more why they could potentially win.

Netherlands are the shock, performed beautifully and i believe it is in with a strong chance of winning or giving the Netherlands their first top 5 in many a year.

Sanna and Valentina were amazing. Portugal and surprisingly Iceland had a good perfomances. Netherlands was the main disappointment of this night. Armenia seems more as bottom 5 in the final, not a possible winner. Bottom 2 : Azerbaijan was super boring (even more than Netherlands), Ukraine was awful as always. Hungary is like a "Popular" from 2011. :puke2:
