Posted May 7, 201411 yr The word is at the moment that Latvia and Albania won't be at Eurovision next year after failing to qualify last night. But on the flipside, hopefully Serbia/Croatia/Bosnia will be back next year after Montenegro's qualification (and hopefully at least one of Macedonia/Slovenia on Thursday). Plus there was a (probably untrue) rumour that Turkey will be back next year. Speculate. Edited May 7, 201411 yr by LexC
May 7, 201411 yr Maybe Luxembourg will return after seeing San Marino (cuz small state) and The Netherlands (cuz similar music) qualify? Edited May 7, 201411 yr by *Tim
May 7, 201411 yr San Marino's qualification should ensure they will stay and could possibly make some of the other 'microstates' interested again. I've read that the Israel broadcaster is supposed to be shutting down or something, I don't know if they have another broadcaster in the EBU? If not and they are forced to withdraw, that could open up the chance for the return of Morocco and other North African and Middle Eastern nations.
May 7, 201411 yr I just hope the numbers don't plummet again. From 2011 we've gone from 43 entries to 42 to 39 and now 37. Lose anymore and they'll be hosting semi finals with like 13 entries in!

May 7, 201411 yr Hopefully Turkey will return - They withdrew due to being unhappy with the rules, Anyone know what exactly they were unhappy with? I guess if their version of Eurovision - TurkVision takes off they would be less likely to return.
May 7, 201411 yr I looked it up earlier and apparently they are unhappy with the introduction of the jury as well as the Big 5 having an automatic spot.
May 7, 201411 yr I looked it up earlier and apparently they are unhappy with the introduction of the jury as well as the Big 5 having an automatic spot. but I see they were not complaining about the Big 5 footing the bill for the whole of Europe to partake in the contest!
May 7, 201411 yr Author Well I think they said they were unhappy with the "Big 5" rule (I think because technically, based on population & GDP Turkey and Russia actually pay more into the EBU than Spain and possibly Italy but realistically they could never be included in a 'big 7' for political reasons). In all honesty though, Turkey can stay gone as far as I'm concerned, frees up an undeserved top 10 place & a qualification every year for a country who wouldn't have got one otherwise.
May 7, 201411 yr I'm banking on Bulgaria and the FYRs to return, although I must admit the contest has been at a nice size this year with few DNQs and some different countries qualifying. Turkey would be nice to see back for variety's sake, they don't sell their soul like Azerbaijan do even if some of their top 10s are undeserved, although they need to lose that attitude if so.
May 7, 201411 yr The only UNDESERVED Turkey top ten was THAT PIG HADISE (and Shake It Up Sekerim but frankly 2007 was SLIM PICKINGS all round in retrospect. Now THERE'S a contest that hasn't aged well)
May 7, 201411 yr Don't talk about 2007. If we don't talk about it then it never happened. And we still bombed despite it being a tragic year - Thank god for Malta telling everyone to vote for the UK and giving us 12 points!
May 7, 201411 yr Andorra MUST return: _BD4qglDKQw Would love to see Monaco return as well but I doubt TMC cares enough.
May 7, 201411 yr I wanna see litchenstein finally make a debut! It's shocking that it has never taken part! The 60th has to be the biggest yet imo Cyprus, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia will return. Don't think We will see the Czech or Slovak Republic return or Monaco, Morocco, Andorra, Turkey. I think Slovenia will withdraw this year and I think Poland might too if it doesn't go top 10. I reckon Portugal will be there for the 60th then withdraw.

I guess if their version of Eurovision - TurkVision takes off they would be less likely to return. They were offended by Krista Siegfrids's kiss during "Marry Me" last year, and refused to broadcast the final because of it, so why on earth would anyone want them back? We could have Scotland before long. Emeli Sande for their debut? :D Edited May 7, 201411 yr by THEO.
May 8, 201411 yr We could have Scotland before long. Emeli Sande for their debut? I'm pretty sure she'd take the oppurtunity tbh
