May 11, 201411 yr Actually wait LOL your predictions were TERRIBLE! Ne idea aboot points but: 1. Greece 2. Azerbaijan 3. Sweden. 4. Hungary 5. Netherlands 6. Ukraine 7. Armenia 8. Austria 9. Norway 10. Romania 11. Russia 12 Slovenia 13. Denmark 23. France 24. Italy 25. UK 26. Spain Well done on predicting the 20th and 22nd placed songs top two bbz!
May 11, 201411 yr My predictions were the closest on the site though...? You predicted seven songs in the top ten, which were conveniently the same seven that basically everyone else on here predicted as well along with the bookies. Being eight places off on UK as opposed to sixteen hardly gifts you MYSTIC INSIGHT
May 11, 201411 yr What's with their novelty acts? They jackin our swagga! http://i1.cdnds.net/14/19/300x225/picture-1.png
May 11, 201411 yr http://i1.cdnds.net/14/19/300x225/picture-1.png I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT MOMENT TO USE THAT, ADAM :( Boo, you whore.
May 11, 201411 yr My blogged thoughts on the evening here: http://poplovedance.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05...rises-like.html
May 11, 201411 yr People are tweeting Molly and commenting on the fact that signal was lost in several countries last night when she performed - They didn't get to see the postcard introduction for the UK or the majority of her song - Anyone know if this is true?

My moment of fame wasn't witnessed by all 180 million viewers? :(
May 11, 201411 yr I've read about that too but I assumed it couldn't have been a major problem, if it occurred at all, as otherwise they would have surely allowed her to perform again or said something about it.
May 11, 201411 yr I've read about that too but I assumed it couldn't have been a major problem, if it occurred at all, as otherwise they would have surely allowed her to perform again or said something about it. I thought that too so wondered how true it was - Lots of people commenting on it though and saying they only got around the last minute of her performance :-( A shame if it's true - it was Molly's time to promote herself to Europe.
May 12, 201411 yr Probably I'm alone with this opinion, but I still don't like the idea of the 'Big 5'. I seriously think it's a disadvantage: other countries' song are not new to the casual viewers/voters in the final, while poor Molly had to perform when everyone was already calculating the results. Noone needs a brand new song at the very end of a contest. Ok, I know, Lena could win for Germany, but there was a huge hype around 'Satellite', it was already well-known in many countries. I think if Molly had the opportunity to perform twice (she would've easily qualified for the final), she would've finished in the top 12 (with a wow-moment, that I missed, even top 5). I understand that the big 5 wants to get something for their money, (that they are in the final), but for the performers, it sucks. Quite often the Big 5 has lazy choices (songs which wouldn't even qualify) and like in Molly's case, a second performance would improve their results a lot. So you're proposing to have the big five participate in the semifinals as well? This way it's not even guaranteed uk will be in the final. And why do we need to hear five more songs just coz someone's butthurt about how other countries have to partake in semis and maybe even NOT qualify but precious uk need to have it all fair. Fair would actually be having no AQs at all apart from the winner. Also your argument about Lena is a crock of crap. Do u suggest she bought the hype?! Because the song got noticed by lots of people from different countries on its own - exactly like any other would... If it were as good as satellite. I mean come awn.
May 12, 201411 yr My blogged thoughts on the evening here: http://poplovedance.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05...rises-like.html perfect rundown...!
May 12, 201411 yr There was a bit of bad reception (crackling, screen freezing for a split second) on the BBC when I was watching it.
May 12, 201411 yr Emelie De Forest Rainmaker was the complete standout from the all the songs, it was divine, happy and up lifting and if i could have voted for it i would. It would have been a perfect entry and had she done a Lena, she may have done 2 in a row.

She defiantly would have been top 2 - not sure anybody would have beaten Austria as people were all out voting for the political message. I thought this before with Loreen - we got the power / Helena paparizou - mambo Edited May 12, 201411 yr by Jack89
May 12, 201411 yr The follow up singles from Emelie, Loreen and Helena Paparizou all deserved to be big hits. I know the winning acts usually do well throughout Europe but it doesnt have the same results in the UK Ireland. I ordered Emelies album now on the back of rainmaker, while i loved teardrops i was holding back.
May 12, 201411 yr It would have been interesting to see how Conchita would have performed if she had no beard tbf - I think the Semi Finals was a turning point and I think the beard has played a massive part in hype surrounding her.
May 12, 201411 yr I think a lot of the buzz around Conchita was the beard tbf. That's not to take anything away from the song or the performance because it was easily one of the best, but I think the shock factor ("omg you mean this guy isn't a joke act?!") played a HUGE part. I had friends texting me who hadn't seen the semi-finals telling me they "couldn't wait to see Austria perform lol". Without the beard, she probably would have still won but I don't think it would've been such a MOMENT. (I apologise if this has already been discussed to death earlier in the thread but I was in Denmark *squiggly hipster thing*)
