My estimate of Doctor Who's final ratings was right then! Added 2+ million to the overnights.
Last week's Baked Alaska-Gate episode of "Great British Bake Off" will be over 10 million according to DS. By far it's highest ever rating - and possibly higher than the X Factor launch weekend! :o

Thanks Liam for filling in those gaps!

BBC One drama is doing very well which is pleasing to see. :D Although New Tricks is down a bit compared to how successful it used to be (~8 million).

Strictly also won the ratings battle by more than 2 million!

It really is a ratings juggernaut and unlike either of those other shows (much as I love X Factor) it's interesting without being forced (like X Factor) and has an old presenter who isn't a RELIC who should have been out to pasture several decades ago.

HA this!

I remember being super fookin busy last year, but hearin about GBBO and making it my guilty pleasure!

I tell people from other countries to watch it.

And so much better than those other two shows, especially FiX Factor.

Wonder if we'll see Britney Spears and Rihanna opening GBBOs soon? :P

Also no surprise at Family Guy, amazing show!

Thanks Liam for filling in those gaps!

It's okay. :D

Great to see Eastenders getting over 7 million again - first time since 14 July (first episode after the World Cup period).

In the Club hasn't been far off the ratings of series 1 of Kay Mellor's previous BBC drama The Syndicate (which got either just below or just above 6 million) which is good, and especially so with it being the most watch drama show on TV right now.

Wow, surprising Strictly's winning by so much even with Cheryl, Simon back and Spicy panel!

10 million for GBBO!! :OOO

Absolutely SLAAAYING all bases and snatchin all WEAVES!!

Ah canae watch the iplayer here, what was Baked Alaska Gate?

Those really are amazing numbers for GBBO. Hopefully it gives the Beeb (and others) confidence to invest in slightly more unusual concepts for shows now, without relying on OTT spectacle.
This is a brilliant thread idea. I think GBBO will continue to grow and grow. Also it's brilliant to see The 100 doing so well over on E4. Love to see it moved to primetime on Channel 4 and see how it does. Also wonder if Family Guy will improve when it gets moved to BBC 2 when BBC 3 ends.
Good to see decent figures for In The Club and The Village. The final episode of Series 2 of The village was really rather emotional.

It's not hard to believe that the idea for Bake Off had to be pitched a few times before the BBC decided to give it a go. After all, the concept does sound rather dull but it's a great show. That's why we need the BBC. They can afford to take more risks than other broadcasters. Sometimes they don't come off - and the Beeb have been heavily criticised for some of their failures - but sometimes they end up with a massive hit. A channel funded by advertising would probably not have touched Bake Off with a bargepole.

Absolutely, and if they did they would have had a terribly unsuitable set of hosts/judges, which as we all know is one of the major strengths of GBBO.

Ratings for BBC 1 for the week 25-31 August have now been added to the BARB website. There's a couple of tweaks from the ratings I posted - Monday Eastenders is up to 6.99m and New Tricks is up to 5.61m. Eastenders beats Corrie as the highest soap rating that week! Nice to see it's continuing to do that despite Corrie always being higher based on overnight ratings.

Good ratings for the In the Club series final - it's getting a second series filmed for next year too!
