September 7, 200619 yr Author Ugh what about songs outside the top20? Where is Jealousy and Supafly Inc, what a terrible week for info Some you have good weeks and some bad weeks, look on the bright side at least we had some info which is better than nothing, only been top 20 updates this week, whick makes it more frustrating not knowing 21 to 75
September 7, 200619 yr Some you have good weeks and some bad weeks, look on the bright side at least we had some info which is better than nothing, only been top 20 updates this week, whick makes it more frustrating not knowing 21 to 75 Yeah i know very frustrating not knowing the rest. September 7, 200619 yr For a song in its 13th week of release, Shakira's doing quite well. I hope La Tortura has similar success, if that is in-deed the next single.

September 7, 200619 yr The thing with iTunes and other downloads is that it will make the big acts bigger and the small acts smaller...as soon as someone massive like Madonna, Kylie etc..releases a brand new lead single from an album it will shoot to No.1 even if barely anyone's heard it... they have to get shedloads of airplay as well and half decent or it will be like rudebox, which will probably end up going 30 - 5- 14 - 21 etc etc etc
September 7, 200619 yr Not always... Shakira's song did not get airplay when it debuted... and it went 54-3-2-1-2-2-3-1-1-1-1-2-2... Airplay is not always the key to success... Edited September 7, 200619 yr by sktofi

Just look at Coldplay's Speed of Sound in the US. It went top 10 immediately from downloads and then dropped instantly after everyone had bought it out of curiosity. People don't mind paying 79p for a track they've never heard so these huge acts will have huge comebacks... I would have thought that it could work the other way around. My hunch would be that big names would do better with physical releases coz for many fans there's something there that you can physically hold and so there's a stronger connection with their Idol that you just don't get with a download. I think downloads shift the balance a little, away from buying coz of who it is and more for what it is. Edited September 7, 200619 yr by Sound-Bite
September 7, 200619 yr Glad the fabulous Nelly Furtado tune is set to storm in at #03; it wasn't gonna beat JT and Scissor Sisters, so I'm pleased
