That Ed Sheeran five in a row is one of the more annoying aspects of streaming.

 

A lot of people streaming an album in full will obviously listen to everything so we're going to get these clots of album tracks charting next to each other from huge albums quite often no doubt because they're probably streaming at virtually identical quantities.

Ooooo at Am I Wrong entering the top 75 purely on streaming. Not too sure how I would feel about a something-along-the-lines-of 72(-71-70-70-68-1) chart run.

 

That was quite common in the days of physical singles when a song charted due to import sales. In most cases it had different catalogue number though so when the single was officially released it was marked as a new entry and the import dropped out.

After years of abstinence, Ministry Of Sound has now arrived on Spotify in a big way.

 

The UK-based independent label has been one of the most famous hold-outs from the streaming service.

 

Both the record company's artist albums and its compilations have remained unavailable on the platform since it launched in 2008.

 

Last year, Ministry launched a lawsuit against Spotify related to its users copying their brand and compilation tracklists for Playlists on the service. The case was eventually settled out of court in an 'amicable agreement'.

 

Last week, material from Ministry began arriving on the service for the first time, including three albums from Example: Playing In The Shadows (2011), The Evolution of Man (2012) and best of compilation Hits (2013).

 

Now the company has begun uploading playlists to its official, verified Spotify channel. These include Addicted To Bass, the Ibiza Annual and Chilled House.

 

However, one of Ministry's most famous recent releases - last year's debut album from London Grammar, If You Wait - remains off the service in the UK.

annoyingly, they've only put the radio edit up for streaming and not the remixes, so I Wanna Feel won't be getting many additional "0.01 sales" from me as I got the extended mix from iTunes the week it went to #1 and I prefer that version

I assumed it would be listed in their archives but it seems they haven't added these charts to the archive yet. Adding in the known positions from LW would be better than nothing though (and presumably the full chart will appear in the archive eventually).

Last week's top 100 singles sales/streaming charts can be found here. They are incomplete but it's as good as it's gonna get unless OCC do top 100 archives for these charts in the future.

 

'Calm Down' just missed out on a top 40 position in the sales chart :o charting at #41.

IMO streaming an album should count towards the album chart and OCC should have a album streaming chart as well.

How do you want to count it?

For example, I click on the album, listen 3 songs, skip 2, listen to a 4th song than just stop listening to it? Listeners mostly do this.

 

What would be the criteria for an album stream?
