July 20, 201412 yr How do you want to count it? For example, I click on the album, listen 3 songs, skip 2, listen to a 4th song than just stop listening to it? Listeners mostly do this. What would be the criteria for an album stream? It's the question of the counting software only. I'd count full album streams (with no skips) to the album chart, all the others to the tracks charts.

So that means 8 songs on an album and all 8 have been listened to in full? That's fair enough. It doesn't happen though very often in my opinion. And how many album streams = 1 album sale?

And how many album streams = 1 album sale? There is a must to do a market research first. Equaling one full play to one sale is quite unfair, I think. I'd use the same logic as is used for tracks.
July 21, 201412 yr Albums as a concept are IMO dying, they just don't 'work' in a digital environment where you can cherry pick, and as a consequence I see little point in including streaming in the chart. Just let it die a peaceful death.

For some reason I have to agree with you the singles chart has become more of a track chart now, instead of having Singles and Album charts separately, it be more widely known as The Track Chart with everything chucked in it. Give it another 24 months OCC will decide to call it The Track Chart.
