Thanks Jay! I'm going to finish this before I start my 2014 EOY!

40. BWO - Lay Your Love On Me

39. Cher - Believe

38. Ola - All Over The World

37. Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)

36. One Direction - Kiss You

Kicking off the top 40 we have thrice Melodifestivalen losers BWO. 'Lay Your Love On Me' came third in 2008 and the video is full of shirtless men, sexual innuendo and mild bondage. Quite typical for a Scandinavian music video really. Cher's massvie anthem for homosexuals 'Believe' is at 39. Another Swede at 38 is Ola. The former footballer's (yes!) first international breakthrough hit 'All Over The World' didn't quite manage to set the UK charts on fire, much to the surprise of no one and the dismay of many a pop fan. Another of Rihanna's many entries in this countdown is at 37. 'Only Girl (In The World)' was the kickstart to flawless 'Loud' era. At 36 is the final appearance of pop phenomenon One Direction. 'Kiss You' is clearly their best single yet, so fun and so pop.

Love love love love love Only Girl (In The World). Also here for Believe & Kiss You.

35. Robin S. Show Me Love

34. Nelly Furtado - Say It Right

33. The Saturdays - Higher

32. Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This

31. Helena Paparizou - Mambo

At 35 is the 90's CLASSIC 'Show Me Love' by Robin S, later made famous by Rebecca Ferguson on The X Factor in 2010. 34 sees Nelly Furtado at her best. 'Say It Right' was a real highlight from the brilliant 'Loose' album. The Saturdays make another appearance at 33, this time with 2010's 'Higher'. Personally I prefer the version sans Flo Rida but it's such a fantastic POP BOP that even a rapper can't bring it down! Daniel Bedingfield is at 32 with 'Gotta Get Thru This'. Not a huge fan of his work, his sister is much better at it. Finally here we have Helena Paparizou at 31 with 'Mambo'. Basically a year after her Eurovision win, she could've won it all over again if she wanted to with this fantastic follow-up.

30. Spice Girls - Viva Forever

29. LMC vs. U2 - Take Me To The Clouds Above

28. Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooooh

27. Richard X - Finest Dreams (ft. Kelis)

26. Precious - Say It Again

At #30 is the Spice Girls with their last single to feature Geri pre-reunion. 'Viva Forever' is such a gorgeous, iconic song and I really love the video too. #29 is 'Take Me To The Clouds Above', a number 1 single from 2004, which was the first ever single I bought on CD, so I really have fond memories of this song. Girls Aloud have another entry at #28, this time with the fabulous 'Something Kinda Ooooh'. Richard X and Kelis' collaboration 'Finest Dreams' from 2003 is at #27 and finally in this section is the UK's entry for Eurovision 1999, 'Say It Again' by Precious. For a UK entry, this was well ahead of its time, being by far the most contemporary song in the contest that year. Sadly, the girls had to settle for 12th place in Jerusalem, which at the time was the worst showing for the UK! How times have changed.

I am raising my eyebrows at you preferring Say It Again to the likes of Something Kinda Ooooh and Viva Forever! *Judging you*

Show Me Love *.* They don't make them like that any more x

25. Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten

24. Alex Party - Don't Give Me Your Life

23. Alcazar - Stay The Night

22. ABBA - Mamma Mia

21. Natasha Bedingfield - These Words

Two songs in this section from the first album I bought, Natasha Bedingfield's 'Unwritten'. Such a superb debut album and these two singles were and still are absolute KILLER. I wish she hadn't taken off in America and f***ed her career over here though :( #24 is more exquisite 90's dance in the form of 'Don't Give Me Your Life'. A Melodifestivalen classic at #23, 'Stay The Night' by Alcazar was totally robbed of its rightful place in Eurovision on the night. More Swedish excellence at #22, this time it's the legends that are ABBA with the fantastic 'Mamma Mia'!

Stay The Night didn't make Eurovision!? Wasn't a follower at the time but I know the song and it's amazing.

These Words  A great 90s gem from Alex Party too!

I command you to finish this countdown x
