So, what with the second half of the year in full swing now, I thought it would be time to bring up a 'predicted top 10 of the year' topic, obviously based on sales, not a personal chart.

so... what do people think? list your top 10's below...

Thanks,

Myles.

ps- I know some songs may not have been released yet, but just forecast them in it too (so basically if a song is realeased soon and you think it will do well, include that)

It's true that there probably will be new songs released which will make the year-end top 10, but it should be mostly songs that exist and/or have been released already. Especially with streaming, as it will favour songs released earlier in the year for a year-end chart. Some years like 2009 and 2010 had a huge number of massive hits come at the end of the year, but it wasn't like that in 2011-2013, so I assume it won't be like that this year either.

Here's vidcapper's YTD top 20 to give people are guide:

Pos - YTD - Artist - Song

1 - 1,602,000 - Pharrell Williams - Happy

2 - 1,278,000 - Clean Bandit ft Jess Glynne - Rather Be

3 - 980,000 - John Legend - All Of Me

4 - 896,000 - Pitbull ft Ke$ha - Timber

5 - 830,000 - Mr Probz - Waves

6 - 638,000 - Route 94 ft Jess Glynne - My Love

7 - 622,000 - Katy Perry ft Juicy J - Dark Horse

8 - 592,000 - Sam Smith - Money On My Mind

9 - 568,000 - Idina Menzel - Let It Go

10 - 566,000 - Sigma - Nobody To Love

11 - 558,000 - Kiesza - Hideaway

12 - 548,000 - Ella Henderson - Ghost

13 - 528,000 - Sam Smith - Stay With Me

14 - 514,000 - Avicii - Hey Brother

15 - 510,000 - Duke Dumont - I Got U

16 - 484,000 - Calvin Harris - Summer

17 - 470,000 - Ed Sheeran - Sing

18 - 432,000 - Will.i.Am ft Miley Cyrus etc. - Feelin' Myself

19 - 402,000 - Iggy Azalea ft Charli XCX - Fancy

20 - 400,000 - Jason Derulo - Trumpets

My prediction is something like:

1. Pharrell - Happy

2. Clean Bandit - Rather Be

3. John Legend - All Of Me

4. A song that hasn't been released yet

5. Mr. Probz - Waves

6. A song that hasn't been released yet

7. A song that hasn't been released yet

8. Pitbull - Timber

9. Ella Henderson - Ghost

10. Idina Menzel - Let It Go (I can see it charting for the rest of the year for some reason, but it seems quite unrealistic for a song that misses the weekly top 10 to make the year-end top 10 so I don't know).

yeah... I can see Nico and Vinz maybe making a top 10 inclusion if Am I Wrong benefits from its airplay and gets a decent top 10 chart run.

Yeah, I could see Am I Wrong getting year-end top 10. Rude possibly as well. But we'll have to see how those two do in the long run I guess. Maybe Bang Bang, but I don't think it'll do THAT well. Maybe All About That Bass might be huge.

It's very hard to predict. There are still lots of strong releases due to come out over the next few months. I think both Magic! and Nico & Vinz have a good chance at finishing up in the Top 10. I doubt the Top 3 will change though. Nothing will overtake Pharell, Clean Bandit and John Legend now. Mr Probz should overtake Timber within the next few weeks.
Yeah I think there's only 5 that we can safely say are guaranteed in the YE top 10 (the current top 5 on YTD). Of the other current 15 I'd only back Ghost & Stay With Me to have a shot given they're on similar sales to tracks around them but are currently much higher in the charts.

out of the songs that we already know about I'd predict

01 Pharrell Williams - Happy [1.8m]

02 Clean Bandit - Rather Be [1.4m]

03 John Legend - All of Me [1.25m]

04 Mr Probz - Waves [1.1m]

05 Ella Henderson - Ghost [1m]

06 Pitbull - Timber [950k]

07 Magic! - Rude [900k]

08 Nico & Vinz - Am I Wrong [750k]

09 Sam Smith - Stay With Me [700k]

10 Idina Menzel - Let It Go [700k]
