Välkommen till deltävling ett av Super Melodifestivalen tjugo hundra fjorton! 40 songs have qualified from the nominations round and tonight the first 10 do battle in the opening heat. Here they are in performance order:

 

1. Alcazar - Stay The Night

 

An unsurprising qualifier, this camp number will have you shaking the glitter from your starry eyes *.*

 

2. Loreen - My Heart Is Refusing Me

 

Now please remember people, you are voting on the Melodifestivalen version of this song and not the superior/inferior (delete as applicable) 2012 single release.

 

3. Anna Bergendahl - This Is My Life

 

I'm surprised this made it through nominations, I imagine Sweden don't know WHAT you're talking about if you mention this. They didn't enter Eurovision in 2010...

 

4. Sanna Nielsen - I'm In Love

 

Here comes the QUEEN of the festivalen. Her first of FIVE appearances in the heats, 2011's 'I'm In Love' is the true GAY ANTHEM. GaGa could never.

 

5. Jessica Andersson - Kalla nätter

 

A golden oldie now as we have a song from 2006! Jessica Andersson's rather fabulous 'Kalla nätter' qualified rather surprisingly. I suppose Buzzjack does have some taste!

 

6. Lisa Miskovsky - Why Start A Fire

 

This rather beautiful number sent Perrelli packing back in 2012, will history repeat itself here in Super MF?

 

7. Timoteij - Stormande hav

 

Preceding the album of 2012, Timoteij returned to the MF stage with this frantic piece. ETT STORMANDE HAVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

 

8. Sanna Nielsen - Undo

 

The current MF champion which is bound to do very well here, it could even go all the way. But are you all bored of this now? Could also be a shock DNQ.

 

9. Pernilla Wahlgren & Jan Johansen - Let Your Spirit Fly

 

A song from 2003? This must be a mistake, Buzzjack can't go back that far. But it HAS made it and you all better vote for it else Cassandra WILL delete the Eurovision forum.

 

10. Charlotte Perrelli - The Girl

 

A fine ending to the heat, Harlot GIVING IT SOME with compulsory key change. Again *.*

I love like all of these songs except Stay The Night, gonna be a bitch to vote :drama:

Jesus. I swear this heat contains a disproportionate number of my favourites. Don't do this to me Adam. I'd probably reliably vote high for Let My Spirit Fly if we didn't have the best Alcazar AND Sanna song as well as a great Loreen track, the whirlwind joy of Stormande Hav, the brilliant grower (and flawless thereafter) of Why Start A Fire and the one where Sanna finally won. GRRRRR.

 

The only one I think is screwed (for my own votes but probably also results-wise) is This Is My Life.

This is legitimately HEAT FOUR QUALITY

 

Which I ordinarily wouldn't mind but we ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO A NICHE FAVE IN HEAT FOUR

Euphoria's obvious, but I think you're wrong on MHIRM.
