I feel like they've been so close to greatness on so many occasions, that to just give up would be foolish, because they clearly have it in them!

 

I could always hope they do what Diana Vickers did, and just sign to a smaller label, because as irrelevant as they are to most people, they do have a core fanbase who will just buy anything they release to make it chart. They are therefore an attractive proposition to a smaller label, no?

It could help them tbh, it could force them to write their own stuff, and just make a record that is just so them, and well done, that people take notice again...

Frankie has not been confirmed but she will no doubt be in the top 3 unless she suddenly starts doing incredibly poor.

We already knew they were taking a break, they announced it how many months ago? Why are we surprised that they're working on solo projects? Isn't that the whole point?

 

If they were about to officially split they probably wouldn't be committing to gigs in December and wouldn't still be attending events together. They were just filming for Una's Dream Ticket a week ago. They also wouldn't be going on and on about how this isn't the end of the group. If there was a good chance of them splitting they would just stay quiet about it, not set themselves up for embarrassment and risk looking like liars.

 

I see them releasing another single in summer or fall of 2015, once Una has had her baby, Frankie is done with Strictly, and Mollie/Rochelle have gotten their potential solo material out. I'm fine with them skipping over the Christmas album. Totally pointless.

They never said they were taking a break, ever. They said they were going on tour and releasing "another album before the end of the year".

 

I'm not fussed what they do because it's obvious they need time away to work on a solid album campaign (and save up for a rent-a-rapper collab). Hopefully a solo single, Frankie on Strictly, time away from the charts and a brilliant single premiere next summer will re-ignite some interest in them.

Una confirmed she was having a baby boy, but also said this about a potential split :

So while we’ll go off and do our own things, it will always be in conjunction with what The Saturdays have going on. We’re definitely not splitting up.’

 

So yeah, they will keep on being The Saturdays, but will do solo stuff on the side, probably to self-fund The Saturdays music themselves.

If it's for a Christmas album, then, there's no choice to release it and try to catch in some money. If it was for a new album, then I can see them holding the material for a 2015 release.

Hmmm, I could've sworn they also said they would be taking some time off after the tour. And even if they didn't it should've been made obvious with all of their recent endeavors. So I guess I'm not really surprised by any of this. Maybe I'm the only one. But I do agree that they need to take some time to get it together and come back with a bang.

The Saturdays are planning to go on hiatus.

 

The 'Up' hitmakers are currently preparing for a greatest hits tour, which starts next month, but once it is complete they will take a break for a "few months" to work on individual projects, which include Frankie Sandford - who has 10-month-old son Parker with soccer star husband Wayne Bridge - taking part on TV show 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

A source said: "Frankie was the BBC's main target for Strictly this year -- they desperately want her sexy girlband glamour and love the fact she is a WAG.

 

"She almost competed last year but had to pull out when she found out she was pregnant.

 

"The Saturdays thought it was the perfect time to coincide with an extended holiday.

 

"They've been working pretty much non-stop for six years and want some time off to focus on all their various solo interests."

 

The group - which also includes Vanessa White, Una Foden, Rochelle Humes and Mollie King - are hoping the break will make them more in demand than ever and hope to eventually follow the career path of Take That, who make an album and tour every few years and work on their own projects in between.

 

The source added to The Sun newspaper: "They'll end up being in more demand because of the exposure Frankie will get on 'Strictly'.

 

"The girls want to be like the female Take That -- go off and spend time working on their own but coming back together for big releases and performances."

Rochelle and Vanessa also really don't know who's singing the "Boy what are waiting for" after "I'm addicted to the beat" which sounds more like Rochelle to me than Vanessa, but ok.

:lol: I remember thinking "Wow, I didn't realize Mollie had that many lines" when I first saw that performance.

I still believe she does both the backing vocals and the "aaahs" during the "oh, we're burning up part", but there's no way she's singing Rochelle/Vanessa lines during the first verse. :lol:

The funny thing is that it's usually Rochelle and Una that steal lines, so Mollie gave Rochelle a taste of her own medicine.

 

But it wouldn't be Rochelle of course, if she didn't take back those lines at the tour.
