Isn't Taylor Swift a Republican though? Not all Republicans are against equal rights, but a lot of them are (whether it's for women, gay people, muslims, ethnic minorities, etc.).

Personally, I think the song is okay, certainly better than David Guetta's, and I would love for it to somehow beat it to #1! But it must be hard for her fans for her to release songs like this and never release a country song as a mainstream single.

Sam Smith is so close to top 10! :o :D

American Republicans are mainly to the right of the political spectrum but this doesn't necessarily mean they are opposed to equality for groups but yes they are more likely to want slower 'progress' in these directions.

The non-existent kind.

OMG !!

The album probably won't go to #1, may go low top 5 due to low album sales and Gaga's fanbase though.

How have so many people pre-ordered the Calvin/John Newman track when it's not even been heard by anyone yet. Why are people so f***ing stupid?
I like Taylor's single but not as much as some of her earlier stuff, if all the album is similar it won't be a big success here in the Uk

If you pre-order you get another track free, so that's probably encouraging people to pre-order as they basically know they are getting 2 songs for 99p - and that extra track is only available if you do pre-order.

because Calvin has lots of fans who are 99% likely to like the song so they don't need to hear it before they know they're going to buy it. In the unlikely event they don't like it they can always cancel the pre-order before it goes on sale. Same story explains why 1D and 5SOS singles do so well before premiering.

plus what Ryan said (C.U.B.A has already premiered)

Will be interesting to see what happens to Calvin when it's released?!
Shake it off also has another version at 105 now :cheer: (it's the non deluxe album version)

No1 version has fallen for the first time!

oh let's not kid ourselves, we all know people are actually pre-ordering it for Newman *.*

100% disagree. It's not as if the UK is calling out for a country album from Taylor and this is her first UK iTunes #1 so that's quite a strange thing to suggest

Basically the uk likes pop Taylor and not country in general!

Calvin who?

It's more like the UK cannot tolerate the country genre in general.
It's a fun, catchy song. The Guetta song is mindless EDM/Country-by-numbers.

Well, the last thing I had in my mind while listening to that ridiculous track was fun while Guetta's music is very danceable on virtually each occasion.
