Daylight is my favourite M5 song, shame it flopped out here but I was in Italy at the time and it was smashing (peaked at #18, so not really), it was being hammered on tv/radio so no problem really :lol:

I've just been looking through the February 2009 iTunes thread as I didn't know if 'Love Story' ever reached #1 on iTunes. Reading through the thread, I didn't realise what a mess the release was - Ethan's comment here summed it up!

Taylor ended up getting within about 5% of iTunes #1 (which was 'Use Somebody') before 'My Life Would Suck Without You' which was released a day early but not constantly added and removed like 'Love Story' was managed to overtake the pair of them just before Taylor overtook Kings of Leon!

 

With this knowledge, I'm so glad Taylor has got to #1 now as it would've been so gutting if 'Shake It Off' got that close without actually managing it!

 

 

I remember it was released in late Feb along with Kelly Clarkson - i was shocked Kelly beat her as i thought Tyalors song was better. Were they not both just released on a Sun/Mon?

I'm thinking Lilly Wood might win the battle of the dance tracks next week, can't wait to see what happens!

Well 'Love Story' was on Amazon and Play a week earlier and then a 'Stripped' version of 'Love Story' then appeared on iTunes in the middle of the week which went top 10. That version eventually got deleted and then was replaced with the original mix on the Friday I think. Then Kelly's song was released a day earlier than expected on the Saturday. I think that's what happened anyway judging by what was happening in the thread!

Everything from Maroon 5's first album is gold, basically any tracks from their follow up albums, Moves Like Jagger. Their current material seems to be marmite.

I am starting to get very worried for 'Glow' now, I think 'Ghost' is just overshadowing it too much! :(

Glow isn't top 1500? It's getting fairly good TV support from what I can gather..

Capital FM and BBC Radio 1 haven't played it at all since the first couple of days after it premiered according to Compare My Radio so that's the problem!

How worrying for her. Hopefully it'll be playlisted by R1 next week, Top 10 looks like it might be a bit of a task now..

I'm still hopeful for 'Glow' yet when playlisting kicks in.

 

I'm really hoping Duke is safe for top 2 next week, now #1 is out of the question.

Ten Walls' pre-order still doing very well - I hope it can challenge for top 20 at least although it'll probably end up doing a Vic Mensa at best. I wonder when there was last a Lithuanian artist in the top 40.

 

Finally heard 'Won't Look Back' now (catching up!!1!), does it sample 'Ride On Time' or is it just very similar? Another very good song from him anyway, very much starting to look like it's not gonna get #1 but hopefully it'll at least be #2.
