I think this is very Ace of Base (minus the reggae influences)! Not sure of how I feel about it at the moment, nothing this era has made an initial Impression on me thus far as opposed to all three previous Pre-album singles in previous era's. As much as I love Crazy Stupid Love now, I disliked it for quite a while; I'm sure this'll grow. :)

EDIT: I know who this reminds me of now... WHIGFIELD! Anyone remember her?

Absolutely love it  It definitely has a more instant feeling on the first hearing than Crazy Stupid Love. I am hooked already and have had it on repeat for the majority of the day already!

Cheryl is really smashing it with this era. Excited for the album!

Video premiere between 8-8:30 tomorrow on Good Morning Britain!
Hmm.. One of her most pop singles yet.. Pretty underwhelming though. Probably will grow to like this more than CSL but that's not saying much..

Has this bitch just changed ha name again?

She's messing with my last.fm OCD and I ain't havin' it

(Kinda like the song tho so I might have to accept her being bipolaror smthing)

wasn't 100% keen on it at first but now im fully on board, a very fun pop track indeed. hoping this can be a big hit for her, she's back on form after crazy stupid love!

Cheryl Cole has about 400 plays, so Cheryl "I ain't got no surname" can f*ck off :kink:

(Just generally annoyed that my last.fm won't be in sync with the actual artist etc. but whatever the weather (Cheryl and Cole are better together))

You guys should stick to "Cheryl" from now on. What will you do when Cheryl will have released a dozen albums under the name "Cheryl"?
I get Pixie Lott vibes from this. Take that as you will.

Wash your mouth out with soap :o.

I would but I can't be bothered to re-scrobble 1,343 plays

Already one of my favourite songs from her. The chorus/hook feels a bit basic but I've listened around five times now and it's a bop.

Gives me 'Kiss The Stars' vibes! (But better)

I'm really getting into it now. It's taken like 5 plays to hit me, but it's very good. Still sounds unfinished to me though (like how 'California Gurls' does to me) so those people saying how it sounds "polished" I don't get that at all. :( But apart from that, as I say I am liking it! Can see it growing on me over time though!

When you say unfinished, what do you think is missing? Another layer to the instrumental, more lyrics? I think some songs really benefit from not having an "everything but the kitchen sink" approach. Sometimes more simplistic is more effective! To me this song is actually quite full sounding and yes, polished! :o Elements of it make me think it could be a Kylie track, particularly the verses & middle 8. Overall it's a step up from the instrumental to 'Crazy Stupid Love' anyway. :D

Pixie Lott vibes - two #1s in a row, like Pixie managed in 2009? :o :kink:

What a wasted opportunity. That absolutely undeniable intro and career-best shimmering verses...only to lead into that utter nothing of a chorus.
Pretty catchy but also so damn basic, like the majority of her output :drama:. The vocals in the chorus (as well as the chorus in general) are so grating. That said, it'll probably grow on me and it's better than 'Crazy Stupid Love' at least.

Oh I agree. Simplicity is definitely a good thing for a pop song, but this is just a bit too simple for me to get fully on board with I think. I do like the song and I don't like talking negative about something I like, but there is something a bit too basic on this, to prevent me from completely loving it as much as I most certainly should be. I felt the same way with 'California Gurls' as I do with this. I can see a lot of the appeal and get why most people love them, but for me something is just missing and they don't feel as wholesome as they could be.

But anyway, it IS catchy and it is growing on me the more I listen to it.
