September 4, 201410 yr Aw, I think she is a little cutie. I love All About That Bass and this new song. The whole thin shaming thing is just ridiculous and I agree with Jark, looking for hidden messages that arent there. People really do take offence to anything and everything. Songs like Wiggle, Blurred Lines and other mysogynistic anthems are offensive. Not her cute whimsical songs which are obviously made just for fun.
September 4, 201410 yr Absolutely LOVE it! I really do love her she's one of my favorite new artist's in the past year.
September 4, 201410 yr Going slightly off topic but I feel like this article below covers the entirety of my views on 'skinny shaming' and in the light of Meghan Trainor's work and the conversation in this thread already, I feel ought to be more widely circulated. http://everydayfeminism.com/2013/10/lets-t...thin-privilege/ Thank you.
September 4, 201410 yr I find "All About That Bass" to be a catchy little bop. Noting too amazing, but it's cute. She has every right to release a song about being proud of her dress size and others on the plus side. Ultimately though, must we as a general population be politically correct about everything? It's becoming a bit tedious. Edited September 4, 201410 yr by Tyler~

September 4, 201410 yr Why is everyone causing a fuss about All About That Bass when a far more skinny offensive song in Anaconda exists?! Just listen to the last verse on that!
September 7, 201410 yr I kinda agree with Umi that it is encouraging obese people who need to lose weight for the sake of their health to not do anything about it. However I think it's a very cute song overall and I don't think it was Meghan's intention to put skinny people down with the song. Like Dobbo, said, the putting down of skinny girls is more obvious in Anaconda than All About That Bass. She literally says 'f**k those skinny b**hes' multiple times as much as I like the song itself Edited September 7, 201410 yr by Neil. S

It's becoming a bit tedious. Preach. If anything, it's a good thing to make larger girls feel good about themselves when most of the music industry is based on being the right size and looking right etc., I think that's what she aimed to do as well showing she feels more than comfortable not being the typical "skinny bitch", it's only a fun pop song!
October 9, 201410 yr The second single was temporarily changed to the EP title track 'Title', but has now been changed again to a brand new song called 'Lips Are Moving' which is being released to radio on October 21st!
October 10, 201410 yr Notorious diva Olly Murs must have been in touch to block 'Dear Future Husband'. That, or they realised it was crap. Edited October 10, 201410 yr by Noahspike
October 10, 201410 yr I'm another one who agrees with Umi. Some quite negative ideas hidden subtly in what looks at first glance like a positive message. She's also another public role model who is being silly and putting herself against feminism. Emma Watson needs to educate her.
October 11, 201410 yr Listen to the track in full here. It's pretty similar to 'All About That Bass' but I think it has as much hit potential as 'Dear Future Husband' if not more. I really like it anyway!
October 11, 201410 yr Way too similar to 'All About That Bass' with the main hook just being the title repeated. Not convinced.
October 11, 201410 yr I think Dear Future Husband would maybe have been better actually, it is basically Dance With Me Tonight but this is way too similar to AATB but not as good or catchy. It's not bad or anything, but meh.

October 12, 201410 yr I really really like this! Still so gutted Dear Future Husband wont be a single as I actually like it a lot more than All About That Bass. I'm starting to fall in love with Meghan, can't wait to hear her album! Every song so far all be it there's only 5 or so, it's undeniably good & catchy! She's very quirky and she seems so lovely. I really don't understand why people find her irritating. #MeghanSlaynor :cheer:
