September 12, 201410 yr Author I mean surely y'all can't prefer "Jump" to "Hung Up"?? 'Jump' is my favourite Madonna song right now so yes i do  *hides* 'Frozen', 'Papa Don't Preach' and then 'Hung Up' come close to it though and I'm always re-loving them at different rates so it's never fixed.
September 12, 201410 yr Hopefully you will see the light & the re-love, reshuffle will happen again soon. #prayercircle
September 12, 201410 yr 'Hung Up' for me relies too heavily on the sample and whilst it was briefly addictive, the appeal of that wore off quite quickly (I do still love it though). For me 'Jump' and 'Sorry' are miles and miles ahead of it.
September 12, 201410 yr Hung Up is quite possibly the single most important thing to happen to the human race. That or Hero, anyway.
September 12, 201410 yr I still remember seeing the video/hearing the song for the first time on GMTV (of all things) back in 2005. It was EVERYTHING. Taking ABBA and IMPROVING UPON (near) PERFECTION in a pink catsuit and strutting. Oh yes. The beginning of an oh so beautiful obsession that has helped shape who I am this very day. Basically Hung Up is responsible for making me the super duper amazing poster I am today. That alone is worthy of 12455/10 status.

It basically introduced an entire generation to the queen of pop music. I remember my friends and I discovering how many AMAZING tracks she had after falling in love with it. It has not ONCE gotten old with me, and sits in my top 5 songs of all time ( which is 3/5 Britney songs, lol). Praise the masterpiece that is HUNG UP. Edited September 12, 201410 yr by Tyler~
September 12, 201410 yr Author My love for 'Jump' is very recent, and if i was to look back over the past decade obviously 'Hung Up' would rank much, much higher for me. I do consider it to be one of, if not THE defining moment of her career, but right now i choose to listen to 'Jump' a whole lot more and it just fits with me so well when i do.
September 12, 201410 yr I've been listening to Music a lot recently and I definitely think I'd place it in my Top 5 Madonna albums too. Tracks 7-11 are particularly great, especially 'Paradise (Not For Me)' which is one of the best tracks of her career when you're in the right mood! I also have a huge soft spot for 'American Life'. Don't like the sound of the original at all really, but I do appreciate that it's a classic and holds a very strong meaning/back story. On the topic of 'Hung Up', I wish I was old enough at the time to really see how massive it was. I can tell I'd be incredibly blown away by it and find it the best song in the history of song.
September 12, 201410 yr Author Experience has made me rich DNSUOFgj97M | 15 // Material Girl // Like A Virgin // 8.22 (2: triangles, 3: jakewild // 11: pippa, aarontm, 10: regina, niallminogue, leww, ultraviolence, robswift, jsilv, oliver, adamaloud) Shimmying into the top 15 is the hugely popular second single from 'Like A Virgin'. Attracted to the risque nature of the song's lyrics, Madonna didn't quite relate to them as she claimed she wasn't a "material" girl (or a "virgin" going on the previous single) but she grabbed it, released it, and dominated with it because of how fun it sounded. Shunning love and romance for a material life, the song is tongue-in-cheek but also a incredibly satirical riot. A song that established her as even more of an icon, this came with its downfall also as Madonna later claimed that she regretted recording the song, as it became synonymous with her, and she was constantly dubbed the "material girl" in the media, despite her rejection of the notion. The song also received a mixed reception as critics too were dubious of the lyrics, but the quirkiness of the song shone through and it has since become a defining song of the 80s. In the music video, Madonna assumes her position on the throne and pays tribute to Marilyn Monroe, more specifically to Monroe performing "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend". It's a stark contrast to songs she released later in her career, but for what it is, and with it being deeply rooted in the fashion of the 80s, it's a diamond.
September 12, 201410 yr ICONIC is not the word. This song still gets regular airplay around here. Love it. Should be just a BIT higher.
September 12, 201410 yr Really like 'Material Girl' but it's not one I'd ever sit and choose to listen to.
September 12, 201410 yr omg don't tell me not in the top 10!!! SO VOID. unexpecting item in the bagging area :S
September 12, 201410 yr Author An invitation to the dance of life lWTDR6ztcnQ | 14 // Celebration // Celebration // 8.28 (2: triangles, 4: aarontm, 5: dandy// 10: regina, liam, gooddelta, leww, ultraviolence, .cdc., gezza, jsilv, oliver, mikemyers, sweetcandy, liamk, jakewild) Very shocked at this. It's fun, vibrant and catchy, but beating some of the true classics that it did has suprised me. Maybe the fact that it's her last big/successful hit had an impact? Either way, you are celebrating high into the top quarter. Released as a brand new single from her latest greatest hits collection, it's a fun, sparkly, dance banger with hallmarks of early Madge, fused with the direction she had recently turned to. Critically the song did not spark much excitement, and though i jam to it, it does come across as a slightly faceless, generic tune in the midst of all of her classics. It did well in many countries, but not so well in the US (though it did mark a landmark 40th! #1 on the Club Dance Songs chart). The song came teamed with a fun music video, which echoes the celebratory nature of the song alongside Madonna's jittering hips, robotic moves and flattering camera positions, a host of killer remixes, and a hugely essential parent album. Come join the party~
September 12, 201410 yr L O L I forgot that was still in the running. It's a perfectly serviceable pop/dance song, but has NO PLACE in a Madonna top 15, at least not that of any SANE PERSON. I do love the super shitty spoken word bit though, it's spazztastic and never fails to make me laugh/smile.
September 12, 201410 yr That said, if it was ''and Madonna's gonna have to show ya'' it would totally be an 11 *.*
September 12, 201410 yr I have to say at this hour and on a particularly uneventful Friday night it is giving me LIFE *maniacal cackle*
September 12, 201410 yr Author SAME JOHN! I just listened to it multiple times on loop and am living for it all of a sudden haha *.* must be one of those nights.
September 12, 201410 yr You know, this countdown has pushed me into a Marge mode for the first time in over a year (I genuinely hadn't listened to a single song out of CHOICE for about 3 months!).
