Not here for that nosering tho

I'm hoping for an uptempo urban smash and she better bring it this era, not that halfarsed promo like Unapolegetic

I'm just craving new Rihanna so whether it's a ballad or a dance banger I don't care. Just GIMME!
All I hope is that it actually has a chorus and no trumpets. Ideally a banger like Only Girl and We Found Love.
@EvanT: I'm at the BMI urban awards, officially met 354 people who all have the next Rihanna single!! Exciting”

It's coming y'all

I'm good with anything as long as we get new Rihanna finally <3 would love something like Only Girl for the lead though.

I agree. Something as game-changing as those two songs were. OG definitely took Rihanna's career up a notch into superstardom (the whole Loud era did tbh) while WFL went stratospheric.

While I really like 'Diamonds', I was extremely underwhelmed by it at first. It was just very safe from an artist like Rihanna. I hope she doesn't follow the trumpet trend and makes her own lane. A reggae sound would be appreciated.

I actually consider 'Diamonds' to be nearly as game-changing as the previous two lead singles as no-one expected Rihanna to come back with a massive ballad as no other pop girl had been releasing ballads as lead singles as far as I remember. Britney had 'Hold It Against Me', Lady Gaga had 'Born This Way', Katy had 'California Girls', Taylor had 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together', Beyoncé had 'Run The World', Pink had 'Blow Me' and so on. So to come back with a ballad in the way Rihanna did was very unexpected I think!

I think Diamonds is what got her a #1 album in the US tbh.

I was hugely underwhelmed by the song at first but it grew on me massively and I consider it a RiRi classic now, something that cannot be said for Stay

Stay is one of her best

I loved Diamonds from listen #1 too! I agree it was a bold move to lead with a ballad, but she did that with Russian Roulette too. I think along with Beyoncé she's one of the artists who can really work a ballad lead single (Best Thing I Never Had and If I a Were A Boy), I wouldn't mind something like Diamonds or Stay at all! I'd be very disappointed if it was along the lines of the trumpet trend, but it could be anything from that to trap like Dark Horse to a club banger, Rihanna is just someone you can't really predict!

i hope it's 'we found love' meets 'only girl' (wouldn't mind something similar to 'diamonds' or 'rated r' singles/album though <3)

and thanks Cremey for posting that photo. stunning.

She is probably the most versatile pop bad biatch out there.

She definately is. She has done so much different type of songs it's unreal

Yeah she's do so many types, from Hard (hate it) to dance to U Da 1 from We Found Love, to adult contemporary, Diamonds and Stay (when all the world was tryna be Adele though HA - reductive peers), that she can release ANYTHING now. She refused to be ppigeonholed like the Spices.

I would prefer something a little bit more urban to be a lead single smash. And I mean more 'Drunk In Love' than 'Pour It Up' urban, take note Rih.

I'd definately be here for that.

Ideally it'd be a pop song with urban flavours. Get a lil' ratchet Ri!

I had a dream last night that I was listening to this for the first time and it featured Missy Elliott and RiFF RaFF!

I need to get a life :(

I also seemed to be in Tutankhamun's tomb?! So if the video has some kind of Egyptian theme I will be thoroughly creeped out.

You better not be a fortune teller or something because I'm not here for Riff Raff
