Friends was great till the last season or 2, I started working my way through season 8 a couple of years ago and I still havent finished the box set, the earlier seasons were the great ones. Jennifer Aniston has too much of a movie career to need to do a reunion, I'd guess...

Phoebe is everything.

The middle seasons stand up incredibly well to repeated views. Jenifer Aniston's comic timing and delivery is pretty fantastic and David Swimmer's physical acting is spot on.

 

Ross has the most dimensions as a character - the favorite son, the self-conscious useless-with-women guy, the academic and pendant, the protective older brother, the rejected husband.

 

Phoebe is my favorite character overall but I've warmed to Rachel over the years. Chandler used to be my second favorite but he's paled.

 

Mike is probably my favourite minor character. My favourite one-off character was that Amanda woman

 

 

Favourite episide is the one with the embryos.

The original 'Pilot' episode of FRIENDS aired on September 22nd 1994, and so we're just under a month away until the show turns 20. So in the build up, i thought i'd make a thread for us to reminisce, laugh and discuss the moments of one of the biggest international shows ever.

 

Who are your favourite characters, any favourite moments, episodes, seasons? Do you still watch it daily, own the box-sets or have you always been a shifty detractor and not given it the time of day for whatever reason?

LOVE IT! I started watching series five and six when I was about nine or ten years old and it went from there with getting the boxset a few years ago! So naturally when I was housesitting for a friend and they had comedycentral (or whatever it is), I started watching again and for some reason went with series 7 to resume my watching :lol:

1. The cheesecake episode, brilliant!

1. "The One With The Lesbian Wedding" - the "now i've seen everything!" makes me laugh so much :lol:

2. "The One With The Princess Leia Fantasy" - as a massive Stars Wars fan, I find Monica/Ross' Mum as Leia so cringe!

3. "The One With The Dollhouse" - Phoebe's makeshift house was cute :wub:

4. "The One With The Cuffs" - Chandler is such a cutie :wub:

5. Basically all of series 5 and 6 :cheer:

6. "The One With Phoebe's Cookies" - "You Americans always butcher the French language"

Friends never gets old :wub: This scene still makes me cry laughing every time!

I think Phoebe loses her quirkiness as the show progresses but remains hilarious anyway!

I think she was a bit OTT and stupid to begin with, she levelled out a bit more and became flawless.
