I hate all this political correctness. Prick isn't a swear word such as F**K or anything like that - it has a genuine natural meaning.

"Bitch" also has a 'genuine natural meaning', because it's the term for a female dog, but that doesn't mean it can be said on the radio :P

(it's annoying that Lilly Wood & The Prick have had to change their name but it's understandable why...)

I know it's absolutely crazy the word has a genuine inoffensive meaning.

Why do we have to change things because of the warp mindedness of a minority.

I was listening to Irish radio the other day and they said the bands full name.

And if you'd actually read the post you replied to and other previous posts you'd understand why. A word having an inoffensive meaning doesn't negate the fact that it also has a more unpleasant meaning and that meaning is more prevalent in the UK. Unless it personally offends you that radio DJs don't say 'prick' a few times a day I really do not see why this is an issue (I'm assuming you do understand why it's been changed because otherwise I worry for your reading comprehension abilities).

Well what would they do if there was a hit by a guy called Dick or a woman called Fanny or a band called the Blue Tits (which is a bird of course).

Nothing, because those are all still clearly different. The first two are real names (one of which is pretty archaic so the likelihood of any musician being called that is very low) and the other is the same deal as Pussycat Dolls where it's clearly not being used to refer to the sexual meaning.
